I've not been for a few years to the Cavaliere, overall we had a good experience. The food was good but I think it was slightly expensive for what I got, I ordered the breaded Haddock and Chips, at a cost of nearly £18 I was disappointed that the chips were cooked from frozen instead of homemade and the fish came in 2 small fillets and not 1 large, the peas were a bit over cooked and dry, and the salad that came with was a little limp, the rest of the party got a good mixture of items and all enjoyed the food, I did have a taste of some pasta, lasagne and pizza and all tasted really nice, I think the next time I visit I will go for one of the more traditional Italian dishes as these seemed to be the best. The atmosphere was nice even though it was quiet due to it being Wednesday night, the restaurant it beautifully decorated and modern but still feels very traditional and service was very good considering we were a party of 17. Overall I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area, they also have a takeaway part which I use quit regularly and have only ever had really good experiences when using it. ⭐⭐⭐

Ordered from the takeaway part of the cavalier, I ordered a pizza and garlic bread to which the garlic bread had absolutely no garlic flavour it was just toasted bread. As for the pizza and service, They got my pizza toppings wrong I phoned with a nice manner not to state I want a refund or anything of the sorts (I picked off the wrong topping) to be met with hostility from the "owner". The "owner" then proceeded to say I can go watch the CCTV of when the order took place, along with when I stated that's no way to speak to a customer (the sheer attitude) she then stated don't come back then and hung up the phone. If you make a mistake you should atleast be responsible enough to apologise but the attitude and displeasure was not necessary. I will not be back and I certainly will not recommend to anyone. P.S the "owner" was making faces and shaking her head while an employee was taking a phone order. This is not a nice environment, I have never left a review on a restaurant before but this most certainly deserved one left.

We decided on a last minute meal out as we were child free for a change and made a booking at The Cavaliere. It was very busy but thankfully I'd booked us a table and we were seated promptly, although it took a wee while to get our menus. However once we made our orders our food was delivered quickly! I had the antipasti plate and it was huge! Everything was very fresh and delicious, although I think it could have been a sharer as a starter, my partner had the prawn cocktail. For mains I had spicy prawns in a tomato chilli sauce with a lemon risotto which was lovely, although a little too much sauce, my partner had the veal with truffle mash and demi Glacé, which had to have a taste of, it was wonderful. It was a little too large a portion for her but they were very accommodating and got us a wee tub to take leftovers home in. The price was a little more than I had expected but understandable for the quality of produce I suppose. Very friendly staff and delicious food, we will be back again.

Usually we love the Cavaliere but after the massive error they made with our order, and their refusal to admit any responsibility, we will never order from them again.

We placed an order through Just Eat for delivery, our order clearly stated Gluten Free next to a pasta dish. My sister in law who is coeliac started to feel a bit unwell having eaten some of her pasta. We contacted the take away to make sure that they had sent GF pasta and when questioned they stated that it was “100% GF”. When asked what shape their GF pasta was they told us it was penne. When we told them they’d sent tagliatelle they stated that the chef hadn’t cooked ANY tagliatelle that night. We advised them that most of the dish was still untouched, and that we could send a photo, they changed tactics and blamed it on the delivery driver giving us the wrong order. Now everyone else got the right food in the order so to think that two orders which were absolutely identical (other than the gf pasta) coming in at the same time and then were strangely mixed up is rather far fetched. My sister in law who had eaten some of the pasta before getting suspicious stared to be violently sick and was so for the rest of the night, she still feels rotten 4 days later.

The Cavaliere sent a driver (who still had our order ticket clearly stating Gluten Free) back to pick up the leftovers, I can only assume to send them for forensic examination? The Cavaliere offered no apology, they just told my sister in law that they hoped she didn’t feel ill for long! They have stood by their lies and attempted deceptions regarding their mistake. They didn’t even have the decency to call the next day to check to see if she was alright! Unacceptable. Terrible customer service. Massively...

Review needed updating. Owners of this place don't really care about the customers or the workers or the place itself all they care about is how much money they make end of the day, week or month. The place is starting to show signs of this too. The staff are largely miss treated and under paid. When organising the catering for her husband the owners wife totally neglected the fact that what she had brought out needed returning too, besides the fact that she always complains about having too much to do but never really seems to do much. Having had and raised issues with the staff there in the passt she decided to just ignore the matter in a hope it would just go away. Thanks to that I had to endure a case of bullying at the work place for three month. Unhappy over my leaving this place early last year the owners even gone as far as to make fals accusations against me to the police. Main issue here is that the staff doesn't get the training they deserve and the owners don't care hence it being very badly organised and some delivery times taking for seemingly ever. The staff however are trying their best and holding on to what little job / income this place still provides. I've tried to make the owners aware of this but got nothing for it but cheap and childish excuses hencey leaving. I've left the matter for more than six months now too so this isn't me being angry or anything but I still feel like people should know where they eat. By what they eat come from tesco Lidl and the likes as due to bad organisation things have to be sourced very last second. Don't believe me just keep an eye out for the kp running about the village doing shopping for the shift as this happens pretty much daily it won't take much to spot...

1st time here as was given a voucher by family who use this place regularly. Lovely place and very snug but comfortable inside if a little loud. It was my wife and I and our 3yr and 6 Yr old granddaughters. Starters came out and they were lovely. Very tasty and fresh. (I had prawn cocktail, wife had haggis and whisky sauce) and the girls had garlic bread - all lovely!). Then it was like we were forgotten about and when the mains finally came out I was a bit disappointed. The girls both had a simple 7" pizza - both were burnt .... one worse than the other. I had the chicken breast with haggis and whisky sauce - before I even touched the haggis all I could taste on the potatoes and veg was pepper - whether a pepper sauce was used accidentally or that's how it normally tastes, I dont know. (They tried to tell me it was the haggis that was peppery and it was normal but I hadn't touched the haggis yet tried my wife's starter and that was lovely). Her steak was spot on (hard to mess up) but she enjoyed that. Myself and the girls didn't eat much and to their credit they removed the items from the bill which was appreciated. The main insult was when the waiter just handed my card and receipt back without even looking at me or acknowledging my thank you and simply marched away. Like I said was a nice wee place and we were looking forward to trying it out - we hadn't eaten since breakfast - but won't be back. Appreciate the food removed from the bill but the waiters attitude (although not horrible outrightly) was...
