Bombay Lounge — Restaurant in Scotland

We decided unfortunately to order a take away from this restaurant as we had been at friends a couple of weeks before and the food we ordered from here was delicious.

Last night we placed an order costing £83 at 550, initially on the online delivery it said 75 minutes to deliver which we were fine, but then changed to 90 minutes which again we were fine with. By 8pm and well overdue the delivery time, my husband phoned and was told it would be with us shortly. I phoned as had a concern how warm the food would be when it was delivered and was told it would be fine. Called the restaurant after 830, as still no delivery and decided to cancel as we were hungry and I had a child needing fed. Spoke to an extremely rude man who we now know is the owner and should hang his head in utter shame with the way he spoke to me, telling me he was short staffed, shouldn’t be delivering to my area in the first place and yes he would cancel my order but never to order from them again. In amongst this, the delivery did arrive at 840, the rude owner asked to speak to the driver, I put the phone on loudspeaker where he went in a tirade of abuse including calling me a “crazy lady”, which was witnessed by my husband and our guests. Owner hold your head in utter shame.

The owner does not need to worry as we won’t ever use your restaurant again or ever recommend the restaurant. We as a family would not want our family and friends to experience rude service and derogatory remarks. Some people should not be in business. Let’s see if my £83...

Please make sure to itemise your bill prior to paying!!!

4 adults and 1 child celebrating a Birthday. Food was delicious and service was very attentive.

However ! Upon paying the bill I found it was very expensive for what we had (over £235). Yes I wish I had my reading glasses to have itemised the bill there and then but didn’t. I also didn’t want the other members of our party to know just how much it was, so just paid it and gave a tip over and above. After arriving home I checked over the bill to find 7 extra items on the bill that we didn’t order, this equated to £51.60 over paid. I travelled back the next day after opening to be asked if I wanted a “gift voucher” as they couldn’t refund back on to my card that I paid from, so I insisted on cash as I clearly didn’t know if I’d be back after being over charged such an amount. He then advised that he didn’t have such a cash amount due to it just opening, so I offered to come back the next again day. Which I did and they had the cash waiting for me. Really not great that not only being over charged by £51.60 but having to make two journeys to receive it with absolutely no offer as a way of an apology! I’ve since spoken to a colleague today who has been over charge a very similar amount the last twice they have been and simply won’t be returning.

Given the food tasted delicious and the service was attentive, its such a shame this is happening as it will likely put me off returning.Or If I do I’ll make sure I have my reading...

Booked for Christmas day. ... restaurant was packed with several very large bookings when we arrived at 4pm. Tried to ask waiter where kids meal was but couldn't hear him over the "live entertainment", to be honest, been in nightclubs with quieter music definitely not the level you want to be subjected to while trying to have conversations on Christmas day! Wasn't even advised there would be a live act when booking otherwise we wouldn't have bothered!

Sat down at 4pm given poppadoms and had to chase the waiting staff numerous times to order as priority was given to the bigger tables the whole time! Still waiting for food at 5:20pm.... with a 6 year old who was already struggling with the volume from the "impersonator" and now starving as he hadn't eaten since lunchtime. Partner complained to manager and suddenly food arrived at the table like magic..... when paying all the arrogant man behind the bar growled "how was food?" When I replied "ok but your service was shocking and grossly understaffed" the only reply I got was the total of the bill and a dirty look!

We were weekly customers here for take aways but will definitely never be back. Doesn't take much to admit that you're understaffed and left a 6 year old child hungry for an hour and a half. Even an acknowledgement would have helped some what but clearly all they cared about was tables giving them more money.
