Simply the best, better than all the rest... We’ve been coming to The Cosy Tearoom for several years now, and it’s still our favourite cafe in Linlithgow. Sheena's coffee is second to none - she has the exclusive on Kimbo beans in town - and her flat white is the gold standard by which we now measure all others. Sheena’s cakes are always freshly baked using excellent ingredients. The millionaire’s shortbread is outstanding, and her layered cakes are just as tempting – so much so that I’ve made it a mission to work my way through them all. The lunch menu is consistently high quality, with delicious homemade soups that change regularly and a great selection of sandwiches and toasties. Inside, it’s warm and inviting, with a small number of tables that add to the cosy charm – worth booking ahead, especially if you’re planning to enjoy an Afternoon Tea. The décor is tasteful and warm. Best of all, Sheena herself is a delight – always friendly, welcoming, and genuinely interested in her customers. The Cosy Tearoom isn't just a café; it's a Linlithgow gem that consistently delivers excellence. Simply the best!

I am admittedly very late with my review, but better late than never. All I can say is my friends and I have been talking about Sheena’s Cosy Tea Room since we had the privilege of meeting her and dining in her beautiful shop back in June ‘24. She was a lovely host and we felt like we were in her home. We know we are Americans and don’t completely understand all the lingo, ins and outs, and expectations of a tea room in Scotland but Sheena was patient with us, cracked a few jokes at our expense which were hilarious, but still went above and beyond to find some clotted cream for a scone I had. The tea, the soup and the toasties were delicious and the cake superb! My friends ended up purchasing a beautiful tea set from her as well and has been quite pleased with it. I can’t wait to visit her tea room again in the future. If you’re in the area do yourself a favor and stop by!

Stopped here for lunch today- lovely little place. We had haggis and cheese toastie and a ham & cheese toastie and both were delicious. We intended just getting toasties but got drawn in by the fantastic selection of homemade cakes- both Millionaires and rocky road were excellent! Had to offset the cakes by a walk round the loch, but well worth it. No photos of the cakes as we ate them too quickly!

I was excited to collect my order as I'd seen the good reviews! It was scheduled for anytime between 3.30 and 4pm. I arrived within the alloted time only to be met with an abrupt 'you're too early, I haven't even packed it up.' I showed her the correct time from my phone 3.37pm but she still continued to moan while getting the order ready. Not welcoming at all, I felt like something she'd trodden in! Like I was a complete inconvenience, the way she spoke to me was embarrassing in a packed shop. I can't comment on the food, I felt so low walking out I put it in the first bin I passed.

Reply from store As it's end of day leftover food it's no big deal. If you're that easily upset over leftovers then I'm sad for you

The big deal was nothing to do with the food, it was how you spoke to me, even one of the tabled customers made a face to me in shock of how you spoke, instead of a simple apology here you continue to belittle saying it's just leftover food. It's was an order I paid for, not your charity! You've obviously got unresolved anger issues judging by your response. I could understand if I had complained to you about my order not being ready on time but I was more than happy to wait. All the aggression/problems were from you. A very unpleasant experience, wish I could take the 1 star...
