By far the worst service ever experienced. Was told approx 30 min wait for food as kitchen was busy but would bring drinks while we waited. After another 20 mins and 2 tables who arrived after us being served before us and complete disregard from the original waiter we received drinks. Dirty cup provided for tea and when asked for another was told all our cups are like that. Astounding. After finally badgering someone to take a food order which was no more complicated than soup and a sandwich for 2 people the soup arrived minus the sandwich which as suspected never made an appearance. At this point I gave up and went to pay. Not surprisingly I found I was charged for the food that never found it’s way to our table. Pointed this out and the answer was a basic oh right! Absolutely deplorable service. My bill was adjusted but still included a sandwich we dint receive. Bill adjusted again….to find I was charged for a donation which they take from all customers. But don’t actually ask you if you want to partake in this. Another change to the bill which was paid only for me to discover when had left the premises I had still paid for 3 soups instead of 2. Frankly by that time I hadn’t the energy to go back. Being understaffed is something I can appreciate however shocking service like this is completely unacceptable and gives catering a really bad name. Being from a similar environment I can 100% say the service delivery was deplorable and customer care worse. Safe to say I will never be back. In these days when business are trying to stay afloat if this is what they are offering I would not be surprised to see it...
Read moreVisited Café 1807 yesterday and we tried both their Special Burger and Scot Burger – a delicious, indulgent experience from start to finish!
Special Burger: This burger is a showstopper! Served in a soft, golden pretzel bun, the towering stack included a juicy beef patty with melted cheese, fresh tomato, and an epic beer-battered onion ring that added perfect crunch and flavor. It came with sweet potato fries that were crisp on the outside and soft inside – a great pairing. The side of coleslaw and mixed salad was fresh and creamy, balancing out the rich burger beautifully.
Scot Burger: Also served in a pretzel bun, the Scot Burger featured a dense, flavorful black pudding patty layered over cheese and fresh greens. It was unique, hearty, and satisfying – a bold twist on the traditional burger that really celebrates local Scottish ingredients. The meal came with classic fries, crisp salad, and creamy coleslaw – all well-portioned and tasty.
Setting & Service: We dined outdoors on a sunny evening with drinks (including a pint of Staropramen). The staff were attentive and friendly, and the presentation of each plate was clean and appealing.
Verdict: Café 1807 delivers on both flavor and atmosphere. The Special Burger is perfect for those wanting something bold and crunchy, while the Scot Burger is ideal for fans of traditional Scottish flavors. Highly...
Read moreWe held a surprise birthday party on 5 January and I have to say the experience on the day was excellent. There were 23 of us and we were asked to pre-order which we did. I was a wee bit worried how timely the food would be served but there was no need to be. They were simply excellent for the few hours we were there. The food was delicious and the team were really attentive on the day and actually could not have asked for more from them. They have a really good selection of drinks, cocktails etc and the feedback from our party was really good. They had added a couple of extra Happy Birthday banners which was a really nice touch.
When I made the booking I felt that I had to do all the chasing in terms of them confirming the booking, not responding to my e-mails, not sending on the menus when they said they would. I was actually quite anxious on the lead up to and on the day as to how it was all going to go. This is the only reason I have not given 5...
