A lovely place for a family outing. There are some brilliant views of the loch and of the palace. A very interesting historical landmark. Lots of natural greenery - a really relaxing atmosphere. There is a car park nearby that leads directly to the loch via some stairs. (The Vennel Car Park). Had a few problems with midges even this time of the year but spray kept them pretty much at bay. Good bird life by way of swans and ducks and the odd corvid.
