Took a visit to The Gurkhas whilst on a visit to Crieff Hydro. Heard a couple of recommendations(one from a fairly local person) to pay a visit. we ordered a Chicken Rogan Josh and a Chicken Chilli dish (I forgot the full name) from the Chefs Special. Nan bread comes sliced into smaller pieces and was an excellent texture. The rice was a good size split between the two of us and I’d also recommend the chips. Very pleased to have visited as the food was terrific. Service was good and although there was only one other group in there was a regular flow of takeaways. The cost was fairly reasonable and if I’m in Crieff again I’ll try to pay another visit.

Great food and fantastic service. What’s not to like? We had chicken pakoras and onions bhajis to start which we shared. Starters were nice enough but nothing stand out. Not the best ive ever had, or the worst. The mains however were brilliant. I had lamb madras and partner had chicken tikka masala. Both curries were great. The madras was full of flavour and had a nice kick without being too spicy. We got a pilau rice and portion of chips between us and that worked out nicely. Got a bit overexcited when the curry arrived and forgot to get a picture. Would definitely return. Probably just skip the starters and double down on the curries.

Great Indian in Crieff! A friend and I booked onto the restaurant on Saturday evening and really enjoyed our meal. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, the food was freshly made and well presented. As mentioned by others the portions are large but the staff happily provided a takeaway box so I could enjoy my leftovers later! The meal was very reasonably priced too at only £55 for poppadoms two courses and drinks for both of us. Will be back next time I’m in Crieff. Thanks again guys!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant.

My partner and I arrived in Crieff quite late on a Sunday and after settling into our air BnB were struggling to find somewhere to sit in for food - we received several recommendations from locals for The Ghurka's.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was so chill - a lovely relaxed and spacious vibe, with some chilled blues playing. Our server was very welcoming and friendly, and we ordered some vegetable samosa and mushroom pakora to start - both of which were delicious but particularly the pakora was exquisite, a lovely texture, the perfect consistency and a full rich flavour. Such a simple dish done so well just set us up so nicely.

Then we ordered the King Prawn Korma and the Butter Chicken - both of which were absolutely phenomenal. Both relatively mild dishes, but still so full of flavour and surprisingly sweet and delicious. The king prawns were perfectly cooked, firm yet soft, and the chicken was beautifully cooked and seasoned. The sauces felt more authentic than any we have tried. And the side of palak paneer was the perfect accompaniment, along with the crispy and buttery garlic naan.

Overall a wonderful welcome to crieff and highly exceeded the already glowing recommendation - the food was delectable and the presentation was lovely. Would definitely recommend that anyone visiting sits in - we will...

We had a fantastic evening at The Gurkhas in Crieff. We were a large party of 16, and despite the restaurant being busy with other tables and takeaway orders, the service was absolutely outstanding, made even more impressive by the fact that it was all handled by a single front-of-house staff member.

The solo waiter was calm, attentive, and incredibly efficient. He managed every detail with professionalism and warmth, never once seeming flustered despite the pressure. Truly a credit to the restaurant!

As always, the food was exceptional, some of the best Indian and Nepalese cuisine we’ve had in the area (or anywhere, for that matter). Every dish was full of flavour, beautifully cooked, and served piping hot. From the starters to the curries and sides, everything was faultless.

We absolutely love this place, it never disappoints and continues to be one of our favourites. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Crieff or passing...

It was our 28th wedding anniversary so was looking for something nice.

First time here. We hadn't booked so headed there at opening time on a Saturday evening. We were the only ones dining but the takeaway service was busy.

I had Seekh Kebab to start and it's probably the biggest Seekh I've ever had. It was lovely too. Wife had Onion Bhajis and they hit the mark as well.

Mains were Prawn Dhansak and Lamb Chilli Dry Fry. Both beautiful and the Lamb was anything but dry. Wonderfully tender bits of lamb and so many of them, I reckoned about 15. Pilau rice to accompany, Tarka Dhal on the side and a garlic and cheese naan and a roti.

Pleasant staff and polite service. Pretty decently priced to boot.

All in all a fantastic meal and we will definitely be back. Made the prefect dining experience for our...
