We visited this excellent local bar a couple of weeks ago as a small group of guys.
We hadnât booked but the friendly Irish manager found us 2 tables near the well kept fire that provided a lovely focal point, surrounded by TVâs and a big screen showing sport.
There was a well stocked bar, great range of beers, with excellent IPAâs and all much cheaper than what was on offer down on Byres Road.
Staff were knowledgeable, remembered our order pretty much each time and offered table service too.
There is darts and pool tables which were in use all night and we were told about forthcoming live music.
All in The Rock was a brilliant find, we stayed till closing time in this great local gem!

   Read moreSince they've given up serving real ale altogether, I ordered a pint of Guinness. The pint was awful. Undrinkable. I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of trying to return it, so left it on the table and ordered a bottle of real ale. This came from the fridge, and was chilled to the point of being tasteless, and unable to create a head on it .
I'm done with this pub. Their interest and ability to serve decent beer has completely gone. If you want a pint of tasteless fizzy lager, you'll get on fine here. The barmaid collecting the glasses didn't even think to ask if there was anything wrong with the nearly full pint of Guinness she removed from my table.

   Read moreI lived in the West End of Glasgow in the 90s but, for some reason, never went into The Rock. More fool me, I say. Having been in to watch the fantastic Dughoose Ska Band on Saturday night I will definitely be back! An eclectic crowd spanning the age range from students to middle aged music lovers like me were loving the live music and dancing the night away. The staff were friendly and attentive, if a little overstretched at times, and the venue is perfect for music nights. The Rock has instantly rocketed (see what I did there?) to the top of my West End venue list. Looking forward to...
