Lovley bar which serves a small fresh menue of food . its been refurbished from the last review photos we looked at its now clean bright and fresh and deffinatly worthy of more than 3.8 stars (which were due to reviews in the past pre refurbishment at a guess). The beers are excellent we loved the bearface hoppy lager, they have a wide selection also of local gins which are fantastic (and heaps of whisky too). We came here twice the food was great (and really reasonable) we had mac and cheese mine was with smoked haddock and very tasty, we had a cheeseboard for afters which was huge!!!! We were so full and the staff were so nice they boxed it up so we could enjoy it later. The pub is very dog friendly they bring out a water bowl and treats they even gave him some biscuits and a cute rug to lie on and he got loads of fuss. If i wasnt so full i would for sure have tried also the naughty crofter board i saw 4 teenages tucking into one it look awsome!!! Full of sweet treats.we were reccomended here from one of the local girls in the tourist info shop she said they have live music here also...

I tried the food shortly after it opened. I could no longer wait for my sausage on a roll that I ended up having to take it out in a bag as a take away

There have been a number of Sat nights where the main bar has been closed which would have been unheard of prior to the new take over ..It used to be one of the most popular bars in Stornoway where you were bound to meet people you hadn't seen in years

I was in the bar the night Costello was playing a few weeks back and waited a ridiculous amount of time to be served and watched many people come in only to give up and walk back out again ad they gave up waiting to get served ..This bar has had its Soul ripped right out of it ..For all the remedial works that have been carried out The walls to the upstairs bar still remain damp and mouldy with paint work falling of . Very sad...

Was in the new Lewis bar on a Thursday night, started well but prices are just daft, almost £7.00 for a pint of lager, seriously! Also on closer inspection all they have really done is given it a lick off paint and added some tourist tat! Then we were all chased out at half eleven! I pointed out to the guy in waist coat who read chasing everybody that it said clearly on front door 1am finish. He said its up to the duty manager, him, when closing tine was. So not even slightly impressed with new Lewis and suspect most people will find it the same, very disappointing and the so called duty manager was very rude to our totally hassle free and totally...

If you are looking for a pub with comfort food in Stornoway this is your place. It is a historic cozy pub with renovated look. Lovely decor, nice and clean bathrooms and plenty of choices to seat comfortablely. They open on Sundays, something not very common in the area. Staff is very kind and welcoming , there is also nice music. We have been today for a Sunday roast and it has been a very good experience. Food was fresh and tasty offering good value for money. Also they do have nice coffe machine with lovely capuccinos. We will be back during our stay for sure.

Several restaurants we tried were closed as it was 3 pm. Popped in and asked if they had food, and we had one of the best meals of the trip! The mushroom soup was wonderful and the Thai salmon salad was delicious. They even had gluten free bread! Then we also ordered the cheese board to start and it was huge! Great cheeses, meats, crackers and grapes on pretty wood boards.
