Went to a celebratory concert by Calum Martin. Most of the spoken parts in between the music was in Gaelic, as was the songs and music, but this didn't diminish the enjoyment for a simple non-bilingual Englishman. The venue is great, and allows the audience to be so close and nearly intimate with the stage performance. The seating was comfortable and afforded good leg room. The bar staff were incredibly efficient, polite and helpful. The ticket reception likewise suggested I may be eligible for a concession price (and I was!), so grateful for that. The inside theatre staff, and unseen crew made the whole experience great for me, as well as the performers did. Thoroughly recommend this venue.

I returned a few days later in the daytime as I found I had time for a coffee and cake in the cafe/bar. Again, the service was great. The view across the harbour towards the castle is wonderful. Thanks An Lanntair, it made my visit to Lewis & Harris special...

I have just changed my 5 star review to 1 star. The introduction of a £10 minimum card payment in the cafe is restrictive, greedy and profiteering. It can't be because of credit card charges as box office only has a £5 minimum, hence the profiteering tag. Respond to this when you remove this idiotic restriction and I will come back. Until then, you will not see me. Will leave the original review below. Always enjoy going to An Lanntair. The is a good range of events and activities and the cafe is excellent both in choice and quality. A great place to meet people, have business meeting or at work. Only negative is that the entrance and cafe can be cold...

We booked an evening meal by phone in May for Thursday 22nd of July. It was verbally confirmed We left our contact number. We turned up on the 22nd July. To be told that they weren’t serving evening meals and to make matters worse they implied we had made a mistake. We my friend and I booked all our evening meals for our stay in Stornaway on that day in May. Every other establishment had the correct booking but An Lanntair said they didn’t get the booking which was untrue. They could have easily told us that they weren’t serving evening meals which they didn’t or phone to cancel booking. We were disappointed and annoyed by our treatment...

I have been to An Lanntair on many occasions. There is not one evening I can ever say of, as being disappointing. I have been to a New year Celebration Evening, Pantomime, Blue Grass and Folk music, and most recently a fantastic event of Dance called "6 feet,3 shoes". It was a wonderful display of Spanish Flamenco Dance Accompanied by a Gifted Classical Guitar Musician. The 3 ladies also performed Scottish Highland Ballet style to a very accomplished Fiddle player!

Pleasant arts centre with cinema, cafe, exhibition space and a wee shop. Nice central location and buzzing atmosphere. Good place for a catch up, a bit of posing laptop action or a bite to eat. This piece of art was made ftom unsolicited (junk) mail over a period of the artist's life and was part of an exhibition when we visited. It's like Stornoway's answer to Eden Court in Inverness. Decent. Every town should have something like this.

Very much gone downhill. The guy serving had all the charm of a smelly fart. Over the years I've been here many times. Will not be back until it changes hands again. On last visit ordered 2 coffees. They were behind in bringing out the coffees. Really? Wasn't busy FFS. And the coffee was the worst I've tasted in a while. Left half. Only giving a second star because the place historically holds good memories.
