A warm and vibrant pub, with warm and welcoming staff, both members of staff were friendly and personable making all the difference. The menu was really good with wide ranging choice for all occasions and foodie types. The other half hoped somewhere would have a nice vegetable stew on such a cold day as it was. Great to find The Ship Inn had this on the menu and apparently it was very good. I had the Chicken Parm which was great, and our pooch appreciated it too!! 😜Added bonus was the dog friendly element and Edie our dog was served first with a bowl of water without even having to ask.

Young staff, as there were here, can teach others so much about how to welcome folk in, make them feel welcome and create the 'nothing is a bother' attitude. The boss of the staff here should feel lucky to have such great all-rounders. Although we stay in Perth we'll certainly be back as there's lots more I'd like to try on the menu. Well done and thanks for a great...

We didn't eat here, but we did have a drink - just the one, because the prices are extortionate! How anywhere can justify £5.10 for a pint of 3.8% cask ale is completely beyond me (and I drink a lot of cask ale in a lot of pubs, so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to beer prices) - that is nearly THREE TIMES what it would have cost, a massive hike in margin compared to the average in the trade. All the other drinks we saw served were very expensive too - we were sitting at the bar so had a good view of everything served.

What disgusted me the most, though, was the member of staff who put his foot on the sink behind the bar whilst putting his hand up the leg of his shorts and scratching his inner thigh.

They quite clearly work on the principle of "there will be another one along in a minute...". Here's a tip - go to The Auld Hoose just round the corner where they have the same beer on cask for...

nice looking pub , greeted by a lovely lady who showed us a table it had reserved from 18.30 on a card so at 12.00 we had plenty time or so we thought !! ordered a glass wine and a pt , small fish chips and steak pie , fish was nice but mediocre frozen chips ! steak pie just a bowl of gravy and meat with puff pastry stuck on top ! frozen chips and peas ! not great for £16 total bill £40.40 , then to be told at 12.30 that this table was booked rather abruptly i said it says 18.30 then she proceeded to get another card from under that one that says 12.30 . would not return food mediocre and service not the best , blond lady that met us to start was lovely , young waiter that didn’t know what draught beer was and other waitress very rude that told us table was reserved ! such a shame as a...

I'll start with the positives.... They are dog friendly and the staff are accommodating and friendly. Thta however, is all I can think of. We went in, in two seperate groups, a group of 5 and a group of 4. Our group had fish and chips x 3 and a macaroni cheese x 1. The fish was absolutely dripping in grease which in turn saturated the overcooked fries. The fish was clearly reheated and was absolutely tasteless. The batter just tasted of grease which was only made palatable by smothering it in Tartar sauce. The macaroni had very little flavour either. I'm not a big fan of leaving negative reviews but for the price of 4 main meals and 4 soft drinks (£69. 85), the Ship Inn is clearly trading on it's tourist friendly location and not the quality of its food. A real disappointment!

'Under New Management' and they better give the chef and staff a pay rise... 👍 We have not had a better 'pub grub' meal like this for years, it was amazing! The pub is now focusing on doing meals and has spent a lot making it covid19 safe (see pics). The meals all came piping hot with steam rising from them, which is unusual. The Ship Inn Burger was delicious, in fact near to perfection. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and kept us safe. We used the government scheme but bill for 4 with two courses with drinks would be £80. Please watch as outside tables at front and rear court yards are available to smokers. Highly recommend this restaurant and congratulate the kitchen team for wonderful meals.😁
