A warm and vibrant pub, with warm and welcoming staff, both members of staff were friendly and personable making all the difference. The menu was really good with wide ranging choice for all occasions and foodie types. The other half hoped somewhere would have a nice vegetable stew on such a cold day as it was. Great to find The Ship Inn had this on the menu and apparently it was very good. I had the Chicken Parm which was great, and our pooch appreciated it too!! 😜Added bonus was the dog friendly element and Edie our dog was served first with a bowl of water without even having to ask.
Young staff, as there were here, can teach others so much about how to welcome folk in, make them feel welcome and create the 'nothing is a bother' attitude. The boss of the staff here should feel lucky to have such great all-rounders. Although we stay in Perth we'll certainly be back as there's lots more I'd like to try on the menu. Well done and thanks for a great...
Read moreWe didn't eat here, but we did have a drink - just the one, because the prices are extortionate! How anywhere can justify £5.10 for a pint of 3.8% cask ale is completely beyond me (and I drink a lot of cask ale in a lot of pubs, so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to beer prices) - that is nearly THREE TIMES what it would have cost, a massive hike in margin compared to the average in the trade. All the other drinks we saw served were very expensive too - we were sitting at the bar so had a good view of everything served.
What disgusted me the most, though, was the member of staff who put his foot on the sink behind the bar whilst putting his hand up the leg of his shorts and scratching his inner thigh.
They quite clearly work on the principle of "there will be another one along in a minute...". Here's a tip - go to The Auld Hoose just round the corner where they have the same beer on cask for...
