The Good - Food was great, can’t complain. Nachos with chilli beef and a Thai chicken curry for the main. Delicious.

The Bad - The service and atmosphere was absolutely brutal. Front of house are bouncers who also walk about between tables whilst customers are eating their food. Not something I associate with a nice venue. The service was poor, menus thrown down, left waiting for drinks, no cutlery served with our food... blah blah. We were actually undercharged on our bill but my wife’s good conscience prevailed and we had it changed.

I’ve just recently moved to the area and had a really similarly poor experience at the Treehouse in Ayr. However, when I tried Scott’s at Troon it was fantastic. I understand they are all linked and it’s obvious the staff at Scott’s are a level above.

I wanted to leave one star as I left absolutely raging however the food was very good and I’m also wondering if it was my mistake in booking the bar area. I just thought it would be a bit more upmarket. Give it a go and...

Vics and the Vine is the newly updated Elliots, Prestwick and on first couple of visits like the previous restaurant it didnt disappoint, the food was glorious, occasionally the service is slow but the staff are cheerful, however this evening we had possibly the worst food from any restaurant in a long time, we both had the same chicken strips starter and both felt that the food was reheated although was lukewarm, my wife had the fish goujons with very hard over cooked frites, I had the steak which was fine however my fries were also too hard and had an unusual taste almost like dirty cooking oil, the duty manager gave us more fries however the taste was the same although not quite as hard, we both felt a little queasy as we walked home and my wife was sick, we will NOT be back. Was recommended I eat here when in a taxi on my way to wetherspoon.... glad I took his advice. Bar meals 4.95 Mon-Fri.... Im a 15 stone guy after a 10 hour shift, I ordered bangers and mash and chicken goujons and fries and they happily put them on the same plate with extra onion gravy! 👏

Excellent quality food especially the black pepper sausages... very well cooked and a nice pint of Tank tennents to go with which I'd not tried until tonight.

Served by Stacy who was brilliant and clearly loves her job. Can't beat good food and service with a smile in brilliantly designed...
