Zambretto Italian — Restaurant in Scotland

Just left. Good ambience. Decent food. Wasn’t told by the server that the kids meal came with a drink or desert so we didn’t get either (older lady) Did ask one of the younger servers later, if the kids meal came with a drink and she told us what there was and we got a small Diet Coke. Said to the older lady when the bill came that we’d been charged for it and she said oh it’s a smaller drink it comes with!! Didn’t think to say that that was the drink the girl brought when I’d asked about the kids drink!! Had been there too long and was so tired!! Couldn’t care what the bill was, just don’t like paying for things that should be included and also like to be told what’s included!! I then said to the older lady, don’t mind paying whatever my bill is but don’t want to pay for what’s included!! She said oh no worries, I know what you mean - you just don’t want to pay… sounds cheeky when I think of it now but although she was quite direct she was quite pleasant throughout and don’t think she meant it nastily!! I hope not anyway!!! Nice food and place but wouldn’t go back if you had kids, would cost...

I’ve been to the restaurant a couple of times . Always Had a seat outside and has been a great laidback experience. Went in on Sunday 26/7 at 9pm to be told by the barman that they had already called last orders. Ok fine no problem. He told us to take a seat. Great, as I’d just finished work and was wanting a quick drink . 5-6 mins had passed with nobody coming near us to take an order. Only one guy making cocktails for the only 2 tables they had. One guy appears from the back and decides to load a till with cash. Still nothing , goes over to ask about an order, barely lifts his head and says I’ll be over in a minute. At this point id had enough. Terrible attitude from this guy who appeared from nowhere and decided it’s better to load a till than try get some sales in the till ! No wonder the place is dead. As for the original guy behind the bar he has always been kind and polite. Hit and miss this place ....

The food was nothing special and the service was worse - 2 hours from arriving to leaving for starters and main courses was unacceptable. 15 minutes for first drinks order which arrived wrong, 4 out of the 5 starters arrived after waiting for 20 minutes after ordering, finished starter plates lying on the table for nearly 20 minutes, another 25 minutes for the mains to arrive, another wrong drinks order and Italian food that honestly, was no better than my wife or I can do at home. The evening got off on the wrong foot where I believe common sense should have prevailed over, however, the manager chose not to adopt it. It soured an evening of birthday celebrations and we should have left at that point, however we decided to stay - wrong decision and halfway through couldn't wait to leave.
