Japan Street Food — Restaurant in Scotland

I have never felt so disrespected by a restaurant. I ordered via just-eat and filled in the information that just-eat wanted me to give. I have an international number and was staying in a hotel. I had a feeling that the driver might have a problem with delivering which is why I called to check in on the order. When I called I asked how the driver would contact me since I have an international number. The girl quickly told me that he was on his way and hung op on me without giving additional information. After waiting for over 2 hours i called again to see what the status was of the order. I tried to ask what happend and how it could be resolved but the guy on the phone kept raising his voice at me telling me it was my own mistake that the driver couldn’t contact me even though I have tried (I even mentioned on the delivery instructions that if the driver was not able to contact me that the restaurant should call me so i could wait outside). The guy kept talking to me in a very angry way which made me feel very uncomfortable, especially since English is not even my first language. He told me that the driver would come again and that I would be recharged for delivery. Before I could even mention that I didn’t even have cash on me he had already hung up leaving me again not knowing when the food would arrive or how I would know it was there. I ended up waiting at reception for the driver who also spoke to me in a very unprofessional way. I am very sad that this restaurant does not take customer service very serious.. i am disappointed in the way i was talked to. Would not recommend this unless you want to be yelled at.

Japan Street Food makes the best bento box meals ever! These are the perfect option for someone who doesn’t necessarily want to have fish/ seafood but still wants to enjoy Japanese cuisine. I have tried the Teriyaki chicken and Chicken katsu curry bento box options, but also tried some veggie versions of their foods. The japanese steamed rice side has the best texture and flavour i have ever tried, in fact I am still desperately trying to find any other restaurant who would serve such great rice! The boxes also come with chicken sushi, which is the best tasting chicken sushi i have tried thus far, where most places don’t even serve this as an option. The teriyaki sauce is sweet and sticky and the perfect amount of thick, allowing it to coat the chicken really nicely. The katsu curry sauce has a lovely curry flavour and comes with delicious crispy chicken.

I have eaten food from Japan Street Food many many times while living in Paisley, and since they offer delivery it was always a convenient and quick experience. The rare one time there was something missing in the order, the customer support was great and the staff was nice and responsive and very helpful with the situation. On a separate occasion they were quick to reply to my questions on Facebook and I had a pleasant experience communicating with them.

I have since moved out of Paisley but make sure I come visit solely for the purpose of eating at Japan...

We have ordered a couple of times from here, the first the order arrived wrong, they did correct the mistake, and the sushi was very tasty. We understand that mistakes can happen and gave them the benefit of the doubt as the food we ordered was nice. So we ordered again last night and we were given an estimation of a 1hour wait, nearly 2 hours later, still no food had arrived and the app was saying it wasn't even ready for delivery. When we phoned we were told they were very busy, despite the fact it was nearly 10pm. We won’t be ordering again, as we gave the benefit of the doubt the first time but to wait for nearly 2 hours and still not have food ready is ridiculous.

Edit to respond to your response. Your restaurant is 6 mins away from my house, so when you told us it was only 6mins away we took that as they haven’t left yet. We declined the discount because we won’t be purchasing from you again therefore your discount would be useless, and we cancelled because we had waited 2 hours for our food and it was now approaching 2200. It wasn’t exactly a cheap order, and we called 15mins after the latest expected time, we gave you plenty of time. We are more than happy to support local businesses, but apparently going by other reviews you guys seriously have a time keeping issue, and don’t seem to be doing much...
