I went to Blossoms today for lunch with my husband and two teenage sons. We are not from the area but decided to visit Formby for the day, and we chose Blossoms for lunch as it appeared to be a very nice looking cafe from the outside. However, as others have said in these reviews, we experienced the same bad service. A lady served us on arrival, I presume the owner, as she seemed to be in charge, and she had a very bad attitude, it was like she didn't want us there. From ordering our food, we waited 40 minutes before it arrived. The food was actually quite good but this was spoilt by the bad attitude and the long wait. I also noticed that the young girls serving needed some guidance - for example, they didn't ask my son if he would like any sauces with his bacon sandwich and they didn't bring him a knife to spread his tomato sauce onto his sandwich. When the rest of the food arrived, no cutlery was brought to us, so I had to go to the counter to ask for some cutlery. When my husband went to pay, he had to tell the girls what we had ordered as the order they had was half wrong. I am not blaming the young girls here, I just think they need some more training on the processes. Sorry, but as others have said before this review, we will not be returning...
Read moreOrdered 3 jacket potatoes today with drinks. We ended up walking out as we did not get our food in time and had to leave due to our parking running out. We waited for half an hour before asking how long our food would be. The young waitress advised us that it "was being plated up now." Unfortnately, 10 minutes passed and we still hadn't received our food. So, we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. We did not so much as receive an apology for the inconvenience caused and the waitress looked extremely flustered. Other customers hadn't received their orders after we had sat down either and simple drinks orders were taking over 15 minutes to come as we were told by others. It would appear that the staff operating today were poorly trained as there was a clear lack in customer service skills. Having worked in the hospitality industry, jacket potatoes are one of those most basic dishes to serve and should be out of the kitchen within a short amount of time. It seems a shame to complain when other reviews are positive however, our experience today was lack lustre to say the least and unfortunately, we never even got to sample whether the food actually lives up to the...
Read moreQuite possibly the worst food service I have ever had. Waited over 1 hour and 20 minutes for food, ordered 3 basic wraps and a kids tomato pasta for a 2 year old… after the hour when food did finally arrive they delivered the plates kindly to us one by one allowing enough time for each person to eat there dinner before the next would arrive. 20 minutes it took from the first wrap to come to the table, and the last to be served was the toddlers pasta who by this time had been sat at the table for nearly 2 hours… also by this point we was never offered another drink or had empty coffee cups cleared.
They are not short staffed, just short of good staff.
The girl who served was VERY apologetic but nobody else really seemed to care, even when we had to ask multiple times how long as we was on a toddlers hunger clock. I’m not sure who is running this place but there was a lot of unhappy customers that they need to be aware of as people sensed and was walking out before even ordering drinks as it was taking that long.
Very basic menu that should be lovely, quick and simple...
