Jade Gardens — Restaurant in Sefton

The staff here were lovely and the place seemed clean and very welcoming for sit down diners. However, the take away I had from here last night was the worst Chinese I’ve had in a very long time. The prawn toast was ok but the spring rolls were very small. No flavour to either of them. The Char Sui pork was dry and tasteless, hardly any sauce, the egg fried rice hardly had any egg in and again just no flavour. I ordered the Barbeque ribs and they were literally the toughest thing I’ve ever eaten, it was clear they had been cooked and reheated because they were almost like plastic. I couldn’t even chew them enough to swallow. The vast majority of the food went in the bin.

Staff are lovely. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the beef fillet steak. The dish cost £14.50 only to be given a cut of beef laced with bicarbonate of soda to tenderise it. This was definetely not fillet steak. I didn't complain as my guest would have been totally embarrassed. So I say this now, please do not rip your customers off. I would gladly pay £15 for genuine fillet steak. I'm surprised nobody has complained yet. Both my friend and I had the hot and sour soup. It had prawn In it and tasted of ammonia on the 1st bite. We both sent it back only to be told there was nothing wrong with it. Again please try to serve fresh prawns and not frozen prawns that are off.
