Ordered via Uber eats, delivery was over an hour late. Had to call the restaurant twice to get an update, first time "it was on it's way", second time "it's 2 minutes away". No apology either time for the lateness. When it arrived ten minutes later, it had clearly been sat around somewhere for 30+ minutes, anything crunchy had gone wet and soggy. The sauce on the nachos was some sort of oddly sweet ketchup, which was employed again in the chicken enchiladas. The taquito and the chimichamga were exactly the same, clearly the restaurant doesn't know what a taquito is. Now, if I'd paid regular takeaway prices for this, I would have been irritated. Me and my partner visit Rancho very regularly as it’s our all time favourite restaurant for steak. We have had steak in numerous restaurants and rancho is the one we come back to everytime as the quality & service is consistently top notch. Rancho is very underrated as when we are in there it is always quiet. Our steaks are cooked to absolute perfection Every. Single. Time. The grilled prawns are unreal paired with the fillet steak 😍 Staff are always so friendly and happy to help. The Food, decor & music are just brilliant. To spend between £30-£40 per person when all 4 of you get a filet steak, add on a side of prawns for 1, a bottle of wine, 3 cocktails & 1 beer is more than reasonable when most other restaurants are £30 alone for a filler steak. Went to Rancho steakhouse, waterloo last night and wasn't impressed at all. Ordered nachos and bbq wings for starters and the Burrito with rice and the rump steak off the set menu. Starters were great, but the mains were nothing to shout about. Beef mince in the burrito felt very fine and wet, nothing meaty about it and the Mexican rice had the texture and taste of packet rice. The rump steak was cooked well, but the seasoning just wasn't there. I can normally eat the fat with a rump, but this was just very chewy. The peppercorn sauce was more of a gravy and tasted similar also. Plus point is the staff were nice and the toilets are clean, but are down some very steep stairs.
