The venue has a rustic feel (wooden beams and stuff). Two floors and pleasantly relaxed vibe. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food came out quickly and no issues with the order. Small but great selection of wines, at a very reasonable price. Other places would charge you a bomb for the quality we had - try their Malbec!
Onto the food. We had a lot - pan con tomato, BBQ ribs, chorizo in a sweet smokey sauce, rice filled peppers, meatballs, pan fried sea bass, pork belly, lightly battered veg and a cheeseboard. It was all good. In particular the peppers and sea bass.
Three small crticisms; the 3 types of pork we ate, although definitely tastey, were not melt in your mouth, they were slightly on the chewy side, especially the pork belly, which was oddly more like Chinese pork belly than anything. Also, I'm no expert in spanish cooking, but have had a lot of tapas here and abroad and I wouldn't say that the ribs were Spanish style ribs. They just seemed like standard BBQ ribs. I prefer a bit more authenticity (Tapas Tapas, if you disagree, please feel free to educate me).
Finally, I understand the issues faced due to covid, but I think that an hour and a half time limit is too small. It should be 2 hours like most other places I've been to recently. No sooner had we finished eating than we were being asked to finish our drinks and being ushered out of the door, resulting in me having to down a full glass...

Me and my significant other were astonished by the gleaming cutlery that the exceptional kitchen porter had presented before us. The plates shone with a moonlight glow and the fork shimmered like an undisturbed lake. The kitchen portered undoubtedly put his blood, sweat and tears into this as he does with all the other patrons at this establishment. He takes care with his work and treats it as a craft, a craft of which he is a master. After we partook in our meals and manners, we requested to speak to the artist of a porter who had delighted us with our plates and cutlery. When we spoke to him, he addressed us as part of the restaurant, called us Sir and Ma'am. He informed us he was called Alfred Breen but insisted we called Alfie, he treated us as equals and spoke to us with the up-most respect. He carried himself as someone who is approachable and willing to help someone out, he did not appear arrogant or narcissistic instead felt accommodating, empathetic and caring towards us and all other people within the restaurant. I'm wishing my regards reach the delightful person in question as I would like his kindness and warmness towards me and others be known by everyone as it shows there is still light in this dark world, even if it is only shown...
Read moreCame here about 20:30ish yesterday as online it says it's open until 10pm. Asked the waitress if they are still servicing food to which she said yes, then out of no where comes a male member of staff he said something along the lines of "oh no no we usually do but not tonight" had a big pause (to think of a lie presumably) then continued to say the chef has had to leave due to a family accident. The waitress looked completely confused at him saying this and frowned as if to say why would you say that. It was obvious the man was lying as I don't understand how the waitress wouldn't have been informed of this and also judging by her response to the man with a puzzled/confused look. Perhaps the man wanted an early date and to close up earlier as it was quiet on a weekday evening. But to tell a lie like that is bizarre he could have just said no sorry, the interaction was pretty bizarre and unprofessional especially when it was blatantly obvious he'd told a lie...
