Ephesus Mediterranean Grill & Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Sevenoaks

I'm not here to criticise, just actually trying to help, in a way. Let me explain... When arriving here at around 7-7:10 tonight, we were sat down (table of two) and everything seemed good. I understand its a busy time on a Saturday so I was ready to wait and relax with drinks and conversation with my girlfriend. We ordered drinks, they arrived relatively quick considering they were cocktails and we proceeded to order our food. Things were looking good and we were enjoying the evening together. After around 25 minutes the starters arrived. In all fairness they were very tasty and enjoyable, they were cleared around 15/20 minutes after finishing them...the mains didn't arrive. I asked for the bill at around 9:25 (2 hours after arriving). Here's where I'll try to help... If I know that someone has been waiting for their food for over an hour then the least I would do is come and explain that I know they're waiting and try to sympathise with them, not just walk past them like they're not there. People just need to know that you know. After asking about the food a couple of times with different staff, nobody came back to inform me what was happening. We just sat there wondering...we've been here 2 hours and only had starters. If you guys just explained then we would have been more than happy to wait. On attempting to pay for what we have had (believe me I was ready to walk without paying through sheer frustration) I had no choice but to try to communicate with the waiter next to a massive speaker and couldn't understand a word that's being said. Taking me to one side and giving any sort of explanation would have been more appreciated. Last thing...if two people have been in your restaurant for 2 hours and only received their starters, then at least offer a discount of some description. Okay we had 4 drinks and 2...

Attended the restaurant on Mother's Day and was very disappointed.

We was messed around prior to our booking where we was told the restaurant would not be selling alcohol on Mother's Day. We wanted to change venue as we was planning on celebrating but due to the lack of time between this and our booking we couldn't get in anywhere else. However, randomly we received a call just before Mother's Day to say they will now be selling out alcohol - weird?!

Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were given 'set menus'. We weren't informed prior to our booking that we could not choose off the standard menu and that our choices would be limited. This was very annoying and we wish we was told beforehand as some of the dishes we would of liked to order were not available on the set menu.

The drinks were stale and flat. Almost, like they had been sitting there for days. I am not sure if this has anything to do with their issues with licencing? My mum ordered an alternative red wine as she couldn't stand the taste, but this was also stale. A simple diet coke was also flat...

The food was OK despite the small portion of bread for starters that we had to share between six of us.

We left our meal not feeling very satisfied for the money we paid (which was £350!). Out of curiosity, I decided to check the prices of the standard menu comparing to the set menu (which was £36pp) as we thought this was pricey for two courses. I have been to restaurants which were a lot nicer and paid £32 for three courses…

We wrote an email to ask why we was charged an extra £55 on top of our meal just for having a set menu but we received no response or a call to clarify why we was overcharged.

I would avoid...

I visited Sevenoak's for the first time on New Years Eve and was looking for somewhere nice to eat out with my family. As we was driving past Ephesus Restaurant caught my eye with its vibrant eye catching features. We decided to go in and as soon as we reached the door I was already impressed by every single one of the staff who all individually greeted us with big smiles on their faces and were all more than happy to help. The menu had a huge selection of different meals to choose from so there was something for everyone! Once the food was ordered and delivered to our table i was amazed just at the presentation on our plates before i had even tried the food. Once we all began to eat our meals, each and every one of us was delighted with the mouth watering tastes that came with it. Everything was perfect, customer service, the food and drink, the decor of the building and even down to the peaceful music playing in the background. Overall, Ephesus Restaurant is brilliant and to be honest brilliant would be an understatement, it certainly deserves to be called magnificent. Well done guys, very very happy and will definitely be returning! 11 out of 10...
