On my birthday this year, Ben took me to Envers Turkish Bar & Grill in Hillsborough, after we had heard good things about it, and been wanting to visit for a while. A family-owned restaurant located in the heart of Hillsborough, their recipes are inspired by traditional Turkish cuisine and made with the freshest ingredients available.
š« The food was exceptional, I had my heart set on trying some of the meze and dips, and I really wanted both chicken & lamb for my main. So my cravings were definitely satisfied. The red wine and Efes beers went down lovely, and the staff were really friendly and great.
We enjoyed;
Meze; we chose stuffed vine leave, halloumi (massive chunks, which I loved), Turkish sausage & Cacik dip with some tomato & cheese flatbread.
Mixed kebab - lamb, chicken and kofte with bulgar, flatbread & salad. There was more than enough on my plate (didn't manage all the kofte) but it was all delicious.
Beyti - Lamb kofte kebab, wrapped in balloon bread with garlic butter and topped with homemade tomato sauce. This was certainly something different and was both tasty and very filling.
We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here, and would recommend as a restaurant to visit! Find out more about Envers on their website here.

We had a large group booking, arrived with a very warm welcome from the lovely staff. We were allowed time to relax and chat before our orders were taken. It didn't take long for our entrees to arrive and they were absolutely delicious, I had halloumi (a staple favourite) and garlic mushrooms, full of flavour and a great portion size, you don't want to overfill yourself when you know what's to come. I also got to eat some of our parties mixed meze and the quality of the ingredients is what really stands out.
I went for the mixed grill this time, (usually get the Adana or Beyti) this did not disappoint. The meat was cooked to perfection and the accompanying cous cous, salad and flat bread complemented the flavours of the meat. I was lucky enough for my wife to be too full to manage all of her lamb ribs so I got to sample those, absolutely mouth watering ribs.
I've eaten at many a Turkish restaurant in my time but this is by far the best I've had.
Even though I was pretty full I saw the deserts menu and knew I had to have they kadayif. The perfect way to end an outstanding meal.
Envers should be the first port of call for anyone looking to have a great dining experience with outstanding service at a reasonable price.
A real credit to the Sheffield...

Everything we have tried on the menu is fresh, delicious and incredibly tasty.
The owner and family work so hard but are like elegant swans and make it look so easy.
It says a lot about a resturant when at 6pm on a Friday night and only 2 tables not taken.
The owner hands out stick on moustaches and politely chats to all the customers in the resturant. My 4 year old instantly took a shining to him and drew him a picture, the owner was so proud and displayed it in his kitchen for everyone to see.
Itās so lovely to see a place that has very clean and supplies for baby changing with a spare tub of nappies (Iām sure these will be someoneās saving Grace one day)
It was the last place we went to before our baby girl was born and the first meal we had once baby arrived. That says it all really, venturing out in the heat with a 4 year old and 2 week old, must be impressive right, try it, you...
