Garrison Guardhouse Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Sheffield

Tower and Turret, new Italian restaurant in the Garrison Hotel. We decided to try the new place out and 3 of us dined. We were served our drinks and ordered our food, we asked for it all to be brought out at the same time as we were all going to share. We ordered the fig salad, olives, seafood pasta, chicken and cous cous and muscle and clam broth. We waited for over an hour to get our food, when it finally arrived, there was not the relevant cutlery to eat it with, no spoon for the salad or the broth so had to ask for them. The fig salad was very bland, the leaves were just plonked on the plate no dressing on apart from the balsamic glaze drizzle, not enough cheese or glaze. For £13 it was poor. The chicken was just ok, the squid in the seafood pasta had no seasoning and was very rubbery, only got 3 each of clams and muscles. The broth was too salty and for my liking and left an unpleasant aftertaste. Food looks good from the outside but tasteless and greasy / fatty

Onion rings dripping with oil. Somewhat undercooked.

Garrison Burger extremely greasy and over cooked unseasoned

Burger contained chorizo which had been burnt to a crisp and still sent out to my table. As photographed. Bun was dry and chewy (stale)

With the burger named after the venue, I expected nice food.

Coleslaw was chewey making me think it’s been sat around a while

Portion sizes were generous, but I’d rather quality over quantity.

Venue decor is dated and needs refreshing, but overall pretty clean.

Old till system meant receiving my refund in cash and waiting...

Staying at the hotel so thought we would have a meal in the bar, shouldn't have bothered.... Very disappointed we chose what we thought would be a safe bet of steak pie and chips after a mess up with the order our food was served less knives and forks so we had to go and get them from the bar no big deal there, Chips tasted as if they had been reheated probably because of the mess up steak pie average but the food seemed as if it had been salted to serve ! So overall the food was poor ! When I went to settle bill server asked if I had had two pints for £8 deal (wasn't even told about any beer deals) Just an all in all poor service... I...
