The Hideaway has evolved.

The Hideaway used to be a hip bar restaurant that served Indian inspired food and also did amazing takeaway food under the Bhaji Shak banner. Well all that has changed.

The hideaway is now a hip bar restaurant that does a mixed menu of amazing food, and does it so well that if it were served in a swanky restaurant in a more upmarket district of Sheffield it would be the talk of the towns newest Fine Dining experience.

And all of that in an old factory on a back street near Hallam Uni.

Absolutely love this place. Painstakingly reimagined by Matt and Anna and the team, this place exquisitely defines the true meaning of “warehouse project”. The building has been beautifully reimagined and it is a pleasure to just sit in and feel the love.

Besides all the platitudes for the building, the bar service is exceptional and the food a dream. If you have a bucket list, put The Hideaway at the top of your Bars and Restaurants...

First time experiencing this hidden gem with my partner and we were absolutely delighted. First of all, the staff are so lovely and accommodating as soon as you walk in the venue. I had asked about their selection of wines of which they were more than happy to help me choose the perfect red with my meal, then was recommended a negroni which was.. wow. Boozy and delicious to say the least. The food was incredible too, so fresh and full of flavour. They had recommended having around 2 to 3 dishes between 2 people which was the perfect amount however couldn’t help but order a couple more. We made another booking to come again and we cannot wait to try their new dishes...

This is a find!! In an old workshop in the centre of Sheffield is a gem!! Welcomed with a recommendation of a cocktail and then the specials in the food menu. I asked for recommendations and chose the cod Thai curry. OUT of this world. I have eaten in a lot of good restaurant but never have eaten cod like it. My partner had the chicken pie and it was sumptuous!! Great simple wine list from south Africa to Germany. Great cocktails and great background soul / funk / relax music. Sat here for a few hours and it was fabulous evening. The chefs need recognition!!! Thank you for a great intro to the Sheffield food scene. We will be back with...
