The Best Meal I’ve Had in the UK So Far

If you’re looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in the UK, Wokie Box is the place to be. My visit there was nothing short of exceptional, and the Yang Zhou Special Fried Rice I had was the highlight of my culinary experience so far.

The rice was cooked to perfection—each grain fluffy yet distinct, with a delicious medley of flavors. Packed with tender chicken, juicy prawns, and a mix of fresh vegetables, every bite was a perfect blend of textures. The subtle seasoning and hint of wok hei (that unique smoky flavor from high-heat cooking) elevated the dish to something truly memorable.

Extremely disappointing experience – won’t be returning.

I’ve visited this place multiple times in the past and never had a problem, but today was honestly shocking. We ordered Schezwan Chicken Noodles and they were completely overloaded with vinegar – it was overpowering and made the dish almost inedible.

We raised the issue politely and asked if it could be altered or replaced, but the staff refused to do anything about it. What made it worse was the receptionist laughing and giggling while I explained the concern – incredibly rude and frustrating. It felt like they didn’t take us seriously at all.

We also ordered Hong Kong Noodles and Prawn Toast, which were actually good, so we didn’t complain about those. But the way our genuine concern was handled was unacceptable.

No wonder the place is usually empty – with that kind of attitude, it’s not surprising. I used to like coming here, but after today’s experience, I won’t be going back and definitely wouldn’t...
