We visited last night (Wednesday evening). The food was amazing, however service was very very slow! We arrived for our meal at 8pm (pre booked) and were told that our table wasn't ready yet - it would be about 10 minutes, but in the meantime we could sit at a table by the door and browse the menu. This wasnt a problem. The waitress came to take our drinks order, and asked what we would like to eat shortly after. I queried if we were staying at the table by the door, or if we were still being moved to our booked table. There was a bit of confusion from the waitress over this, but ended up with her telling us we could stay where we were. Ok, fine. The food came out and was wonderful- very tasty! The food was beautiful! Unfortunately we just felt that the service was that poor that it tarnished the whole experience for us, as we were out celebrating our anniversary. When you're paying £75 for a meal for 2, you expect a little bit more love and attentiveness. We were waiting what seemed like a long time after finishing our mains to be asked if we would like to see the dessert menu. It must have been about 20 minutes, although I wasnt clock watching. The restaurant wasnt even particularly busy at this point - probably half capacity. Overall the service just wasn't up to what we expected unfortunately. But the food as I...
Read moreFood (when it came) was good, but we had an 8pm table and didn’t get our Starters until 9:30pm and Mains at 10 to 10pm. We mentioned the delay when we came to pay and they said they were a person down, which is fair enough, but it might have improved our evening if they’d communicated this to us earlier, and maybe apologised or offered a discount. We noticed that the next table were offered their Starters foc because of their delay - they were sat down before us so maybe they’d waited even longer? Staff didn’t seem particularly attentive and after our Mains were cleared we waited and had to wave someone over to ask about Desserts. Atmos seemed a bit odd: at 8pm we sat at our table but there were a group standing with drinks just behind me before being shown to their table. Each time the front door or the door to the next room opened, there was a blast of cold October air through, so it felt a bit like the hubbub of a railway station rather than a restaurant. Bit disappointing as it was past 11 when we left, so the pubs were closed and we couldn’t go on for a drink.
I’d give it another go, but if the evening was similar, I won’t be going back.
That said, the Codici Primitivo was excellent, and great...
Read moreMy first time in this establishment but would recommend. It’s a cosy environment a little snug but still nice, Happy smiling staff who were excellent, happy to give details of the menu and specials on offer. Good service throughout. We were a table of 7 on a Friday night and could only get in on the second sitting 8:30 it’s Popular/ Busy. The menu is medium sized with a good choice of Starters, Mains and Desserts. There is a pasta section but everything has a Greek twist rather than Italian and it’s better for it. I have a filo/ samosa type thing filled with vegetables and drizzled in Greek yogurt and harissa really nice and a good portion. For main I had 8oz fillet it came with a very small garnish of Rocket and I went for Carrots instead of chips. wow the carrots are amazing. The steak looked well done (I ordered medium) but it was cooked to perfection with a lovely charcoal taste to the outer. The other had a selection of desserts and they all looked good, no complaints from Anyone. I would describe the value for money as good it’s not the cheapest steak in Sheffield but I can’t remember having a better one in the last couple of years. (£31:00 from memory) overall a really...
