I visited the Cabin in my neverending quest to find the most perfect bacon and maple syrup pancakes on a Saturday morning. It was clear when we arrived that it was a busy time but we were able to get a table for three, quite quickly- within 5 mins of waiting which wasnât too bad. High chairs were available for those of short stature but the supplies are limited; you might find yourself battling for them on a weekday if you intend to visit with your sprog.
Once we had ordered at the till, we waited a good hour, for our food. (-1 star, Iâm a patient guy but I could have gone home, cooked them myself and brought them back in, within that time) More frustrating was that people who came in after us were served before us but maybe our order had been mislaid. A bit of repeated grumbling to the staff on the till seemed to solve the issue but it was way too long a wait for some bacon and pancake goodness.
Once the food had arrived, there was a pretty poor bacon to pancake ratio. Letâs be clear, the pancakes were huge and fluffy- good pancakes but the two rashers of bacon that came with three MASSIVE pancakes were in no way going to be stretched out to ensure that perfect bacon/pancake balance. Iâm no economist but Iâm guessing pancakes are cheap to make and bacon is somewhat more expensive, hence the lack of bacon but it felt like a pretty mean portion size bacon wise given the price. (-1 star).
Finally to finish on a good note, I had a milkshake which didnât take an hour to arrive which was yummy and a coffee to follow up whilst I was still waiting for breakfast (again, yummy) and the staff were polite and helpful as far as they could be on a busy day. Overall though, the experience was massively marred by the long wait, made all the more dissappointing by a lack of bacon on my...

We had one of the most fantastic breakfasts recently at The Cabin just off The Moor in Sheffield City Centre. The choices here are aplenty, with Pancakes, Waffles and French Toast being the main base of a delectable brunch feast! They have fabulous specials on the menu to select from, or you can build your own dish. Keep an eye out for the monthly changing specials too.
We enjoyed;
The Works Signature Dish (ÂŁ9.95) â 2 pancakes (or swap for waffles or french toast) topped with Sausage Patty, streaky bacon and scrambled eggs with maple syrup â this was the ultimate breakfast feast and was absolutely delicious. You HAVE to drizzle the maple syrup on this one for full effect.
Nutella Strawberry Heaven on French Toast (ÂŁ9.95) â an absolute chocoholicâs heaven. So warming an delightful.
The Full Monty Breakfast Burrito (ÂŁ9.95)- tortilla wrap filled with Sausage, bacon, egg, hash brown and cheese! For those with less of a sweet tooth this is a perfect, tasty and filling brekky.
Mocha & Flat White â the coffees were faultless and lovely
Everything was perfect and the service was great and with a smile too! We think you get real value for money here.
Other features on the menu here are; Toasted Bagels, Vegan Blueberry Pancakes, Mexican Chicken Waffle (this was a close second choice for me!), Smoothies, Shakes, and much more including a full Kidâs Menu.

Our recent visit to Cabin last Sunday was absolutely fantastic. We were delighted by the exceptional service and the great food they offered. Jordan, one of the staff members, personally approached us and had an open conversation about our previous experience, which we greatly appreciated. The overall dining experience, including both the food and service, exceeded our expectations, and we wholeheartedly recommend it again. đ
Previous experience: I always love coming here for Sunday lunch except yesterday. Really poor service. I had to explain my order thrice to the staff (who I think was new) and still ended up getting the wrong order. On getting back to my table, I realised I paid less at the counter as she did not calculate it right. I went back to the counter to pay the remaining but an additional charge for the sauces got added to my bill which I did not want but had to get now. To make things worse, I ordered an iced latte to beat the 28 degree heat, but got a hot latte which they changed upon requesting them. The staff did not seem very polite and helpful except one of them. The chicken quantity on their mexican waffle has drastically reduced to almost half, which I also checked by seeing the photos on google posted by others and also my previous visit photos. I am still giving a 2 stars rating to this place because I have had a nice lunch here in the past, only...
