We happened upon this place because the Greek restaurant that we frequent was fully booked. When we arrived we were rather disappointed with the appearance (it reminded me of a "greasy spoon cafè" type of place. We decided to give it a go anyway.

We soon came to realise that most of the customers at The Greek Village were actually Greek, if this place was good enough for people from Greece to dine in...

We ordered the dippers starter with a mixed grill for two and a Greek salad. The food was sublime and plentiful, we were also asked if we would like to take the remainder home.

All in all I am glad our usual place was full, this was an amazing yet unexpected find. A small pocket of Greece in the middle...

Superb Greek restaurant in Sheffield!

"The Greek Village" is absolutely the best in Sheffield, it's been our first visit but we will surely be back. Wide food choice for meat eaters and vegetarians, plates are full of food and nicely presented like they would serve in Greece. Amazing range of desserts and drinks to satisfy everyone.

I've ordered the tirokroketes (starter), the Giaourtlou (main) and the ekmek (dessert) and i absolutely loved everything! Prices are just right for the quality and the quantity of the food you get. We had the pleasure to speak with the owners to tell them how amazing our dinner has been and they're really friendly and very dedicated to the restaurant.

Highly recommend you...

The delivery driver woke my neighbours up at MIDNIGHT and rudely rang the bell on my door. They were SPECIFICALLY asked NOT to do this but to call me when they were in the vacinity. When challenged, the delivery driver waas EXCEPTIONALLY rude. MY neighbours, in this quiet cul-de-sac very VERY unimpressed. The collection option was selected in error, an easy mistake to make, both parties were waiting for the other. In the end a delivery charge was paid and the delivery made. It seems that the delivery chap hasnot been altogether upfront to the restaurant about the delivery. Having spoken to the manager, he agreed that this was not acceptable, he apologised and thanked me for...

Overpriced for what it is. Waited about 10-12 minutes for a gyros pork and halloumi wrap with a coke - paid £7 (£6.90). Pork was good but had some fatty bits, halloumi was nice but only nice, the wrap itself was good, but the chips were tasteless, in term of the actual potato. I assume they know this as they pile on the piri piri salt presumably for flavour. Definitely needs more salad, found I only had tomatoes and a bit of lettuce or similar at the bottom of the wrap. Doesn't compare to somewhere like Kosta's - I haven't yet been to Greedy Greek.

We went on a Friday evening to sit in for a meal, the starters were excellent, especially the baked Feta. You get a lot of food in your mains so be aware, they will provide a container if you choose to take some home. We found the staff were lovely and we really enjoyed the food. It's a very casual atmosphere, it's essentially a takeaway with a seating area providing table service but done very nicely. I recommend Greek Village and although I enjoyed the Mixed Grill I will probably go for something a little smaller next time.
