Two Thirds Beer Co. — Restaurant in Sheffield

Tonight we had the pleasure of attending their Louisiana Seafood Night, and it was absolutely delicious!

The main course was a Louisiana Cajun Seafood Boil, which consisted of a heaping platter of fresh mussels, clams, king prawns, and crayfish. The seafood was seasoned and simmered with Cajun spices, fresh parsley, garlic, and slices of orange. It was served with fresh corn on the cob and new potatoes. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the flavors were spot on.

For dessert, we had Mississippi Mud Pie which I had actually never tried before but I already want to have a go at making one it was so delicious. It was a dense and decadent chocolate pie with a biscuit crust, a layer of something like gooey brownie topped with chocolate ganache, and a layer of whipped cream. It was so good!

We also loved that they played music from New Orleans which really added to the atmosphere.

In addition to the great food, Two Thirds Beer Co also has a fantastic selection of craft beer on tap. I tried a few different beers, and they were all delicious. Especially a sour raspberry Framboozy from @tinyrebel to contrast with with the rich pud. A match made in heaven.

Food and drinks were delightful but had an unpleasant experience with our server. During our visit it was very difficult to get served, and when we did so the server was very brisk and vacant in his interactions. When we were handed the bill, I rounded it up to the nearest ten and paid on card. Immediately after this he told us it was the wrong bill, took the receipt and walked off. He came back a few minutes later with a new bill, which was correct and only a few £s different t, which I then paid. Whilst paying he said “why did you not notice it was the wrong bill?”, having spoken no other words to us since leaving with the wrong bill. I replied “well you didn’t notice either” and he walked off again. The payment didn’t go through and he returned and rudely said so. Whilst repaying, I asked if we had annoyed him some how - he said no - and I said he had been quite rude and it had felt like he had suggested that we had purposely paid the wrong bill. He said it wasn’t rude and walked away. This incident felt pretty unpleasant - I would not feel welcome returning...

It was the first time I had visited and was impressed all round. I had enquired about seating and access as I have mobility issues and a booth with lower seating was booked for me and my group for the whole night. There was plenty of seating but all at a high level apart from 2 booths so if you need lower seating, I would suggest you book a table. The staff were friendly and attentive and provided table service all night. It felt like we were abroad! After the first time of ordering drinks, you only had to ask for the same again and they knew what you were having and never got it wrong. No idea how they managed that as the venue was heaving all night. Fantastic and well done. The food was good and nice to have something a bit different from typical pub food.
