Was in Sheffield for the day doing touristy stuff and heard this place was good for Sunday roasts. Waiters/staff were friendly and hospitable (more on that in a minute) and the menu had a good selection, except… Ok, I don’t know if this is a northern thing, but pubs that do roasts don’t ever seem to have a turkey roast on the menu, just beef, lamb, pork, gammon, but no turkey. Also, whatever happened to the usual roast dinner veg: Carrots, broccoli, parsnips, garden peas, what’s with this red cabbage and cauliflower cheese. Anyway I ordered the shoulder of pork…and got lamb. And I hate lamb, too rich tasting for me, and it was on the bone, and I hate that too. It wasn’t bad, far from it, gravy was good ale gravy, spuds were good, Yorkshire pud was rather flat but nvm.

All that said, didn’t want to look fussy so I ate what I could of it, and when the waitress came over to take the plate away I explained most of the above to her, and in all fairness she did apologise on behalf of all the staff, which was good. I had the fudge brownie for dessert which was excellent, warm and soft, with Biscoff crumbs and white chocolate ice cream. As I was enjoying it, the waitress came back over and said in light of getting the order wrong, the price of both courses was reduced and that I could have the dessert for free. For me, in spite of everything that happened, that did earn them back some respect.

All in all, a good pub with good staff and good food and good hospitality, just wish they could’ve gotten my...

Stopped eating at the Broady as the pie fillings got so salty and meagre (3 small half mushrooms in a mushroom pie), and chips were always underdone. Returned recently to try it again, as the staff, service and beer are brilliant.

Unfortunately the food still isn't great. I ordered a spinach feta filo parcel (Ā£16). There were 2 tiny smears of feta in the parcel, which were oddly wet and gelatinous. The parcel was also incredibly salty, only just about edible when mixed with the large accompanying salad. Luckily, the salad was delicious - very fresh leaves, tomato, cucumber, olive and mint. It did include over 20(!) poor quality/tasteless black olives, which seemed pointless. Use fewer better olives, or invest in better/actual(?) feta.

My partner ordered burger, fries and slaw (Ā£15.50), the former was quite tasty but the slaw was undressed/lacked identity and tasted a little fermented (not in a good way).

When I said my main was over salted, offered a partial refund, which I appreciated. I think if I'm after Mediterranean food, I'll try one of the nearby Greek or Turkish restaurants instead. Shame, as lots of good points about...

Where do I begin ! Called in for Sunday lunch recently. As we had a dog with us we had to sit in the bar side which is absolutely fine . However , when we went to order we were informed that it would be an hour before they could take our order ? When asked why… we were told the restaurant was busy ? Hmm there was no one in ?? Rather than wait an hour just to be served we left …,so this Monday we decided to call again and give them another chance … sat down in a boothed area as we had the dog with us and wanted to keep him out of the way … this time when we went to order food we were told that the booth was reserved due to a regular booking … there was nothing in on the table to indicate the table was reserved … bar and restaurant staff simply refused to serve us food unless we vacated the table. They didn’t explain the true reasons for the regular booking until we were leaving and they didn’t take responsibility for the error was unacceptable. We were just expected to move for a regular booking . As a result we won’t be returning . Poor customer service. Twice we attempted to get food and...

Honestly, one of the best pub roast dinners I've ever had. The Broadfield is a delight - friendly, helpful staff. Great food selection, and all of it fantastically tasty and generously proportioned, and a huge range of beers on tap. Ranging from exceptionally local ales from Abbeydale brewery, to ones from across the country including an imperial stout from Cornwall and a delicious alcohol free pale ale from Cloudwater. We had the duo of pork (amazing - the porchetta was incredible), the duo of beef (the most tender pastrami that was falling apart), and the lamb shank (just brilliant). I managed to squeeze an espresso martini panna cotta in after, which was just divine. Light, not too sweet, and accompanied with crumbly, home made shortbread. All so very, very good. If I lived closer, I would be there every night - it's everything a pub should be. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, great prices. 10/10 - if you can, go. You won't regret it.

We tried the broadfield platter, which was a great grazing board with a drink šŸ». The platter included focaccia, olives, hummus, baba ghanoush, sweet & sour burnt ends with pickled onion, tempura butternut squash & oyster mushroom with kimchi. And we also ordered some of their legendary huge chips. All was delicious! But we wished there was more bread to mop up the 2 lovley dips. To say this was a Ā£20 platter before the chips, the amount of bread you received was a bit stingy. It was nice to have a few different bits to try than what is on a usual mezze however and I really liked the tempura and the burnt ends. The Broadfield also serve up classic home made pub grub and was a good go to on a Monday on Abbeydale road. May be just about the only eatery that was open! A good reliable recommendation. Went there with my girlfriend and we both had the Sunday lunch with the vegetable wellington. We arrived just after 2pm without a booking and were seated within 10 minutes. Absolutely delicious! It was described as cheesy, and usually with dishes like this you’ll get a hint of cheese, but it was a very strong taste! Giant homemade yorkshire pudding. Lots of different vegetables. Roast potatoes were perfectly roasted. We both opted for desserts. I had an ice cream, which while delicious was a bit small. My girlfriend had a blueberry cheesecake (which I tried) and really enjoyed. Very intrigued by the Supper Club poster. ā€œFables and Fairy Talesā€ for Halloween sounds exciting. Sad to have missed the ā€œInvasive Speciesā€ evening which sounds really intriguing…
