Someone drove into my car in the car park leaving my battery flat (from the alarm going off) and damage to my vehicle. At 8 months pregnant, on my own and it been late at night I had no choice but to get a taxi home. My husband went to recover the car the next day and asked them to check cctv as a camera is pointing directly at the car, the staff member on duty said the alarm hadn’t gone off as he’d been there since 2am, this is irrelevant as the car was hit much earlier the night before. He said he couldn’t check cctv until the assistant manager wasnt in. I rang later that day, was told they would check cctv but it’s hours of work for them (I have dealt with cctv and you can narrow down time frames so it’s not hours of work). They said they would call me back. It’s been 3 days now and I’ve heard nothing. I understand the initial accident was not the fault of the pub, but how they’ve handled it (or complete lack of) is disgusting. This has cost me hundreds of pounds and the police can’t act unless they have cctv footage or a witness. Which the Norton isn’t willing to provide... is that good...
Read moreJust got home from a visit to The Norton, Sheffield. My family and I were really looking forward to it as it is my mothers and mine birthday. We waited 45 minutes for our meal and when it came mine was stone cold. I ordered the loaded surf and turf. The sizzling pan was stone cold as was the rest of my meal. My mum ordered the salad, which, as she said was ok. My dad ordered the mega mixed grill which he said was warm enough for him to eat and my son ordered the jumbo fish and chips. That was sizzling hot. I was asked if I wanted a new meal but I was not prepared to wait another 45 minutes to eat when everyone else had their meal. They gave me a refund back for my meal with a snooty 'sorry'. We left The Norton with a very heavy heart and bad taste in our mouths! Just to add, I had a glass of pepsi max and after a couple of sups I realised the glass was very badly scratched. It was a glass that should have been thrown away a...
Read moreCalled in for lunch. Staff were very helpful and friendly but the food was dreadful. Cutlery was dirty so had to have that replaced, it was still dirty, just dried on food bits, luckily I'd ordered a sandwich so could use my hands. Mine was a fish finger sandwich, the bread was very cheap sliced bread, loads of coleslaw on which meant bread was wet and fell apart. Chips were clearly frozen chips that had been fried and were really tasteless. My friend had salad and chicken, she asked specifically for no peppers (she's allergic) when it came, full of mushy peppers, she asked for them to be removed, salad brought back with the explanation it all came mixed together so couldn't be separated. So clearly no fresh salad. My friend ordered something different, which meant we didn't eat together. This could be so much better, but honestly the worse pub food ever. Bland, not fresh, generally poor food hygiene. Not be making this our local...
