We visited this restaurant with my family in August and were absolutely delighted with both the food and the service. Even though we hadn’t booked a table in advance, the staff kindly offered us one at 9:15 pm (despite Google Maps saying they closed at 9). We had to wait a few hours, but it was definitely worth it.
We ordered the Steamed Mussels, the soup of the day (pumpkin curry soup), and the Treacle & Whiskey Cured Salmon as starters, followed by the Pan Roasted Sea Trout for the main course. Every single dish was outstanding. These were the best mussels I have ever had in my life: everything was incredibly fresh and absolutely worth the price. Even after two courses, we couldn’t resist trying the Sticky Toffee Pudding, which turned out to be just as delicious.
What truly made the evening unforgettable, though, was the service. The lovely and friendly Polish couple who looked after us were the heart and soul of this place. Chatting with them made the experience so special, and without them, the evening wouldn’t have felt as magical.
I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. You won’t regret it! We’ll definitely come back next time...
Read moreStopped off at Seabreezes Portree as part of a Scottish Tours Experience. Coming from Canada, service in restaurants is usually very good. And if it’s not you can mention something to a manager and often they will compensate customers in some way (e.g., a 20% discount OR even a free meal if the service is terrible enough). Anyway, my partner and I stopped into Seabreezes for some fish & chips and a few cold beverages. As we were sitting waiting to order, one of the young servers erased the £13.50 price and changed it to £15.50 (might I suggest a more customer friendly way of conducting this price adjustment!) As for the food, it was quite tasty and the fish was fresh. The portion size of the chips was pathetic, however. Also, the service was not very good (someone needs to teach the young servers who work here some proper customer service etiquette when speaking to people - not very personable to say the least). Overall: tasty fish, small portion of chips, and subpar service. A point towards the Service - in any business service usually trickles from management down, so I can’t blame the young servers entirely if they’ve never been...
Read moreWe booked a table here as we couldn't get one on our visit last year and we were very happy we did. It's a lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. We both had the same food, which was cured salmon to start, Monkfish scampi for main and we shared the date pudding. The salmon was great and the pickled cucumber was sharp and went very well with the dish. This was a simple, well put together starter. The Monkfish was the same and it was great to have as scampi for a change. It came with a pea puree but the star was the monkfish itself, which was cooked beautifully. It was soft and well seasoned and the portion size was just right for the price. We almost didn't have desert but I'm so glad we did. I normally find sticky toffee pudding type desserts too sweet but we tried their version of it and I'm so glad we did. The sponge was light and delicate and the sauce wasn't too sweet. It was a very well balanced dessert and I'd highly recommend trying it. All round a great meal and I'd happily come back here. Service was spot on too! I also liked the St Mungo lager they served, which was a...
