I visited Stobys in Slough tonight after living in the local area and finding this to be a highly rated fish & chips shop from friends. So I ordered this Fish and Chips Box for one for £7.

Unfortunately it was the worst fish and chips ive had in my life for and for one only the chips.

They gave me uncooked chips not cooked and not crispy what you expect. Even after telling them they said ok will give you more and yet again still uncooked and I told them again they are uncooked.

They said thats how we cook them!

Even though while I stood inside the previous chips was Golden and Crispy and while they were being shuffled and tossed to put in the boxes they sounded crispy.

Dont know what the guys were thinking tonight but if this is their service then I am never going back first and last time ever.

I wish i took more pictures but I was so hungry I just ate my cod and search for the few chips which seemed like there alit bit cooked and left.

While I am writing my review now I know why there service was so bad becuase there were due to close up at 10pm but closed early at 9pm.

Thats not a room for excuse for a bad service. Stobys has a reputation in Slough everyone talks about the best fish and chips which I thought I will try but regrettably regret.

To the owner if you are seeing this please dont let this happen to another customer. I hated every minute in your shop when you staff kept on saying this is how they cook it when I know they dont. and even after telling them its my first visit and you ruined my meal they did not even bother to apologize refund or replace the meal next to give a chance to...

A absolutely terrible service and food. I paid for chips , then 7 pounds for a fish and a pie came to 12 pounds. The counter is quite high can’t always see them asking the food . As for the woman who served me sh could not even speak English ! I. Came home with the food and they didn’t pack the one item out of three ! I tried calling them on number and it’s just continuous engaged they’ve taken the phone off the hook! I didn’t bother going back as it was over 5 miles away for me from home not worth driving 10 miles struggling for parking and I’m sure the customer service would have been rubbish once again! They honestly don’t care. Reading the other reviews I can’t see how they have improved their service ! Try somewhere else not storbys in slouch...

Sadly this chippy has really gone downhill under new management. Always used to be friendly service and reliably great food. Last time I went there the batter was soggy and the chips were cold, service was disorganised and unfriendly. Decided to give it another chance but more of the same, no acknowledgement from staff; you'd expect they would greet a customer given the place was empty. They are charging £4.45 for large chips?! Assumed this was a mistake but was rudely told - no, that's the price. Laughable, as this is more expensive than Farnham Fisheries and Cippenham Lane chippy who are now far better.
