Brunch Base — Restaurant in South Cambridgeshire

INCORRECT ALLERGEN INFORMATION! I’ve been a customer for over a year and always ordered the vegan pancakes due to my egg allergy. I did double check if the pancakes had egg in them. A few weeks ago, I went in for brunch and got my usual pancakes, I noticed they were slightly different looking, but I had looked at the menu and it still stated vegan. I had an allergic reaction after eating them, once I was home. Today, I came into Brunch Base and decided to ask again if they were definitely vegan. I was told they are ‘not completely vegan’. Apparently they have changed supplier and despite the menu still advertising them as vegan, they are now only vegetarian and include eggs. They have had weeks to change the menu, but have not bothered to let people know the proper allergens. I wasn’t given a proper apology or acknowledgement of how serious this was. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt this lovely cafe truly deserved one! I had the Desi Brunch — and wow, what a dish! Full of flavour, perfectly cooked eggs (just how I asked), delicious sausages, flavourful chana masala, and that paratha… absolutely the highlight for me. Generous portions and excellent service throughout.

The young gentleman who took my order was friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about his job. The cafe has convenient parking and a beautifully designed space that adds to the whole experience. Highly recommend checking this place out! A true gem!

The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile. Our food arrived fast, piping hot, and full of flavour. The coffee was spot-on – my mocha was rich and delicious.

I live in Cherry Hinton and this easily beats any café in my area. It’s only a 15-minute drive from Cambridge Central Mosque and the café has a huge car park.

I am really disappointed, just over a week ago i got the eggs Benedict takeaway and the bun was so hard i could not eat it, for the amount of money i paid i could only eat the topping. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and i got another takeaway a few days later which was the light house breakfast and i added extra bacon, this was so delicious and i really enjoyed it. I went back today to get the same lighthouse breakfast extra bacon which should be 2 pieces of extra bacon as they give you one piece of bacon with the meal, and i get home and noticed whoever packed it put it in long ways sideways if that makes sense. My eggs were broken and everything was squashed in one corner of the box and although i paid for extra bacon they gave me one piece of bacon short . I like my egg yolk runny but it had broken inside of the box. So im not happy with my breakfast as i paid £12.75 to get slap dash. I wont go back again. You will see pic of...
