Cara Coffee — Restaurant in South Cambridgeshire

A lovely café and great Shelford that is taking wonderful measures to remain Covid safe! They are open from Wednesday to Saturday, but will be closed during the Christmas break.

They have open air seating outside. They are also very kid and family friendly. They have a special Christmas drink and dessert menu. I highly recommend the gingerbread latte. They have lots of sweet cakes, scones, biscuits, etc... too!

They also have non-dairy milk, which is wonderful! They have soy milk and oatmeal.

Lastly, the folks who work here are all volunteers. I believe some of the revenue goes to support the church. It’s a wonderful operation run by kind, friendly people.

This is a lovely little local cafe, staffed by volunteers. The service from the staff is great. Generally there's a good selection on vittles available, the focus is on cakes and light savories. There is no dedicated 🚗 parking, but parking around the village is not too difficult.

On this occasion my wife and I had coffee, which was extremely good. I also had a vegetarian Scotch egg, agame that was very nice.

Although the cafe and the outside is a nice place, my wife and I would have preferred something a little more rustic, however for a village cafe I don't know what I was expecting 😮. The prices are reasonable. Both my wife and I will be happy to go back again, and...

What a wonderful reception as I went in. Polite, interested in where I'd travelled from and told me about Cara Coffee. First things first, the coffee and toast were perfect and the price was very reasonable. The service was great, not just to me but to all the customers who came in. The added benefit was that the coffee shop is staffed by volunteers and all profits go towards the Romsey Mill charity which supports young people and families, partnering in community development work.
