I visited the shop today and ordered a flat white and a plain butter croissant. Probably the nicest croissant I have ever eaten, soft, crispy and buttery, enough to make the french jealous. The coffee however was severely lacking. (I brew bean to cup at home so I know what I should be drinking) The flat white comes served as a latte in a very large cup. It was tongue burningly hot, definitely over the recommended temperatures, either they are overheating the milk or adding boiling water.. Read moreA(nother) great store for the original Days of Ashwell bakery. Excellent, hand-made sandwiches and baguettes (Coronation Chicken with salad in a wholegrain bun is my favourite), plus all the usual bakery items (bread, pastries and treats). Well worth the visit.
I've not seen the green frogs that the original Days in Ashwell used to sell: I don't know if they have been discontinued or just out of stock. They were a lovely sponge inside, with lots of cream, and an outer shell made of green icing with eyes, mouth and ears! An excellent sticky treat...
Read moreI love Days and use them regularly but I’m finding it harder and harder to come in with the rude staff, some of the staff are lovely but there are a select few who make me feel very unwelcome and I’m not the only person I know who thinks this, they act like it’s an effort when I ask for something and have a very horrid face expressions, Its not hard to smile and say please and thank you and very often I have to repeat myself because they don’t want to listen. Reminds me of my school dinner days. Easy a 5 star rating if all the staff cheer...
