The Loft — Restaurant in South Holland

Popular establishment. Food was delicious, very fresh and tasty. Took a while to get served, two other tables who sat down after me got their orders placed first, which isn't right in the grand scheme of things. I wasn't in a rush and staff did apologise for the delay. I had one of the best omelettes I'd had in a long time - cheese and mushroom, served with zingy, fresh salad and delicious homemade chips. I decided to order a piece of Battenburg cake for pud, as not had that in ages. It took forever to arrive, considering it's just serving a piece of cake. I was a bit nonplussed when it arrived, not on a plate, but in a disposable takeaway carton....?! Glad they didn't serve my main meal in one! Not sure what was happening there, methinks they slipped up, but instead of placing it on a plate when they realised, they just served it in this carton effort. Not what I had been expecting at all. Upon the recommendation of the chap in Fenland Carpets we ventured in to try their full English breakfast (the large one of course, go hard or go home and all that).

It was a triumph with all expected ingredients present and correct. Some establishments miss off the Black Pudding you see, but not here.

The meal came with a hot drink. I chose a coffee but really should have had a tea to maintain authenticity, but that was my error, not theirs.

The staff were friendly and we enjoyed a very relaxed, cheerful and welcoming atmosphere.

Whilst looking for a pub we stumbled on the Loft, the specials board outside took my fancy so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed, the staff were friendly and the service was very good, one thing that impressed me was when a table was cleared and sanitised a card was laid to indicate the table was ready for use.
