Piccola Venezia — Restaurant in South Kesteven

First went here 3 years ago and it was .......ok! Now under new ownership and what a complete change !! They have managed to complete change the atmosphere....very cosy small restaurant feel. Good selection of wine and Italian beer on draught. The starters were very generous size was ! I went for the Italian meats and cheese board ! Was the size of a mains and very well presented. Aside from the usual dishes you would expect like paste and pizzas their is also many meat and chicken dishes! One of our party had sea bass with lemon ...she said it was fantastic. I’m no expert but the party of six I was in we once a year have a late weekend in a different Italian city or town ( we know Italy and it’s food) . For a small market town Italian ....this place hits the spot. Back again this evening ! Steak was the best I’ve had in a longtime. Wife had the special lobster pink vodka sauce dish ! Good wine selection and bruschetta to die for. Can’t recommend this...

Fist time visit to Piccola Venezia. Honest it’s a place you could just drive past without giving a second glance, but you must. This place is amazing. Presentation. The restaurant is very well laid out with crapping people in, clean and tidy with fresh table clothes laid on each table, could do with some better table presentations. Staff. Very pleasant and fully understand of need and requirement, can only believe the young lad was a trainee, not best dressed and could do with some in-house training when delivering food and collecting glasses other than that a polite lad. Food. Best Italian I have ever had, the portions look small but are very tasty and filling. The house special was unbelievable and the price was brilliant for the quality of the food. Drinks. Good selection and little expensive but not stupidly priced. All-in-all. Highly recommend and well worth stopping in for a good traditional meal....

Great food with great prices. The only thing that we didn't like was that it was a small place (which isn't there fault) but they squeezed so many tables in that we were right next to another couple that the table was pretty much joined together, (no privacy) I was also sat behind the kitchen door and everything time they went in or out of the kitchen they kept knocking my chair which was annoying. We ordered our food same time as the table next to us (because they obvs thought we were all together) we had to wait much longer. They got their dessert and we didn't even get our starter, We just felt that we was a young couple that we had to wait the longest for the food out of everyone and i think that they thought we wouldn't have minded. But I cannot...
