If you love high quality seafood this place is for you. The food is simply sensational. We visited on a Monday night and had the restaurant to ourselves. We rang in our order at the time of booking and the chef and owner had everything ready for our arrival. I had scallops on sweet potato mash and a prawn and squid skewer, my daughter had an amazing flaming chorizo sausage, followed by garlic plans, and my son had garlic prawns followed by calamari. We had no room for desert and even brought our leftovers home with us. We did squeeze in coffees. The restaurant has a limited wine menu but all of the wines have been carefully chosen from the Algarve by the owner. The restaurant is a little quirky in its layout. I had to review this after my experience tonight because it was shocking. The lobster isn’t prepared fresh. It’s frozen lobster. The water oozes out from the fingers/claws when cracked and it had a straw like taste like it had been frozen a while. The most shocking part was despite ordering a whole lobster for £40, the fleshier part of the lobster on both halves had been stripped off and I was only given the tail end which has very little flesh. The striped off part was then replaced with some gooey greenish stuff. Honestly I was disappointed and displeased by the experience and the thought of being cheated out of the whole lobster. We shared a Turf and Surf for my husband’s birthday and were not disappointed. Excellent quality meats and ingredients and we couldn’t believe the portion size. We were also pleasantly surprised to find the meal came with a litre of free wine! With my husband driving, I took one for the team. We also shared some starters which were all great - especially the prawns. That sauce was divine!
