I went here for a late lunch. To drink, I had the cooling lemonade which was a bit sweet for my taste, but would have been better (and more cooling) if there had been ice in it. There are a lot of nice options for non-alcoholic drinks which is a plus.
Since it was my first visit, I ordered the three tapas for £9.95 with a side order of mac & cheese.
1 Chicken Teriyaki- The chicken was very tender and juicy, but the overload of what I think was coriander on top overwhelmed the taste of the sauce which tasted more like soy sauce than teriyaki sauce.
Patatas Bravas- The potatoes were lightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, unfortunately the tomato sauce was bland and the only saving grace for it was the roasted garlic mayo on top.
Salt & Pepper Squid- I love salt & pepper squid, and it's a dish I order that seems to be good no matter where I order it from, unfortunately it wasn't as good as others I've had. The squid was the perfect texture, but the breading didn't seem to hold well to the squid even before I sprinkled a bit of lemon juice onto it. It was saltier than most I've had and had a floury aftertaste. The roasted garlic mayo saves the day again with this.
The Mac & Cheese was the highlight of the meal and was really good. Creamy and cheesy with nice, firm noodles. The side order was much bigger than I expected, even bigger than the tapas. For £3.50, it is great value.
The service was decent and the guy who served my food was very nice.
I would give Torino another go. The menu has some other things I would like to try. It's a decent restaurant and a welcome change from the usual pubs and restaurants in Bicester's...
Read moreOriginally given 5 stars in previous review as have eaten here many times and enjoyed it, however, visited on the 11th of April had a burger and chips, quite frankly I have had some of the worst food poisoning I have ever had in my life, I have visited the toilet in excess of 50+ times within the past 48 hours, I had a burger and chips with some cheesy garlic bread. Other than this meal all I had eaten during the day was a cheese sandwich about 7+ hours before.
I can only assume that whoever cooked or prepped my meal came into work sick, in the food service industry you must not go into work again until your symptoms are clear for 48 hours, but given the fact they likely don't have sick pay and get paid minimum or very close to minimum wage, who can afford to do that?
As of now I have been sick for almost 72 hours, so this is not run of the mill food poisoning, this is either ecoli or campylobacter.
My partner treated me to this meal out but so far I have lost multiple times the meal cost in wages from being unable to last more than 15 minutes without having to visit the toilet.
I will never be eating here again, which is very disappointing as I used to enjoy Cinco Lounge no meal is worth the, pain, lack of sleep, loss in wages and inconvenience that Cinco Lounge has caused me.
Added edit: It is now the 16th of April I just about got away with having to go to hospital, but wasn't far off. Management responded to this review asking me to contact them via email so they could ask me about this issue I have had, I emailed them a couple of days ago....... I have had...
Read moreI was initially hesitant to visit, but my husband and I met a friend there, and am I ever glad I went! The decor was phenomenal. Absolutely unique, and made one feel happy for some reason. The ambiance was perfect, the menu was hilarious, and there were board games and books to take advantage of, The service was absolutely phenomenal. The guy behind the counter was friendly, helpful, funny, and made our eating experience better for his serving us. The food was fantastic! We had some tapas, a chicken and avocado salad (and when I asked to substitute steak for the chicken and pay for the difference, it was done), and a Matador burger, all with drinks and dessert. The drinks were delicious, refreshing, and well thought out, the salad was perfect (though admittedly a bit on the small side for the price), the tapas were wiped-clean in a matter of 30 minutes, and the Matador Burger, though nothing to write home about, was filling and yummy. We did pay extra for the sweet potato fries, and were a bit disappointed by the amount of fries that extra $1.25 will get you, but with drinks and dessert it ended up a blessing in disguise. The sticky toffee sundae was something I wish I could eat every day of my life, and the churros (accompanied by two dipping sauces) were surprisingly good! (Being a Californian I have pretty high expectations of Mexican foods, expectations that Britain has managed to almost thoroughly crush, so these were a pleasant surprise). We look forward to coming back for breakfast and...
