I came in yesterday to buy my usual, a white mocha with oat milk. First, there were four partners working on the bar, and the floor was filthy! I also noticed that there were missing chairs for such a busy store that takes in approximately £15k and over. I sat there for about an hour, and one partner went out to buss the floor but missed many tables. The table I was sitting at was dirty from the previous customer, and I had to sit there anyway. The customer bin is useless and too small for the store. To be honest, I could run this store better with three partners, and they had four on shift. Then again, after some time (about 25 minutes), another partner went to buss the floor. He cleaned the corner near the restrooms, barely cleaning at all, and then went back to the bar. It seemed really pointless. My drink only got called out once, then when i realised my drink was there after about 5 minutes at hand off point i went to collect it. I stood there with my white mocha to ask the batista a question about my drink which was "is it made with oat milk" as I am lactose intolerance and i was completely ignored. it is not hard to say, " i be with you in a minute sir" but 0% engagement. I walked off because i can't not stand there like an idiot to be quit frank. I as a coffee master myself examine the drink to see if it was oat milk and my white mocha was like a cappuccino about 30% foam and my caramel drizzle sank like the titanic. Very...
Read moreI’d never describe myself as a Starbucks fan. For me, it’s a place to get a coffee, and I don’t really care who’s name is over the door. If I get decent service and the coffee is good, I’ll go back. It’s doubtful I’ll go back to Starbucks Didcot though for a couple of reasons. Nice enough staff, but some gave me the impression that they weren’t exactly sure of their role, or the roles of their colleagues. Either the toastie heater can only cope with one sandwich at a time, or the operator didn’t understand that we’d ordered one each! Worst of all, the place was filthy. I absolutely understand that the place has a large volume of people going through it daily, but there was no sign of anyone with a broom or anyone to clear and wipe down tables. Perhaps the Manager should go and take some guidance from any McDonalds restaurant, where they’ve all got this function nailed.
I suppose this could all be put down to teething troubles, but this coffee shop has been open for 2 weeks now, and it’s failing key tasks that guarantee customer retention, and therefore a successful business.
Please take this as constructive criticism, which...
Read moreWas in a rush so ordered a click and collect. Turned up to realise all 3 employees refused to acknowledge my existence as my order melted on the counter (guy in beard, girl in glasses and another girl). 2 of them just went to the back as they didn't want to talk to me. Stood there for a bit awkwardly and had to say excuse me? Can I please collect my order? The guy pointed yeah it's on counter. Umm okay??? Came home to realise one of the coffee was missing cream and syrup drizzle and was basically undrinkable. Poorly trained staff, terrible coffee, disgusting (truly dirty) store and terrible service. Indeed living up to the classic Starbucks standard. Next time I will pick up anything on the counter without talking and go I guess???
...The pastry was...
