Purple Pig Sandwich Bar — Restaurant in South Ribble

Ok this would be a five star review based on food quality however, after purchasing 1 English breakfasts at a cost of £6.50, I cannot award it 5 stars, don’t get me wrong it isn’t the price I’m complaining about it’s the amount you get for your money which would be fine if I lived in Monaco or my last name was Rothschild but I don’t and it’s not and this is the north and in the North we can go to Morrison’s whom offer a breakfast at £6.50 which is far superior in size, even Tesco, chicken bbq, tucker box etc all supply breakfasts that are much more filling than here, would the quality be as good I suppose that’s open to opinion, the point I’m making is the portion size for price to me seemed a little uncompetitive given the surrounding competition.

2 sausage 2 bacon beans egg black pudding toast and a garnish of mushroom and tomato. (With drink)

Some may see this value for money, though as I haven’t won the lottery yet and I didn’t manage to jump on bitcoin in the early days I can’t in all honesty say I was satisfied with the price especially when just round the corner is a McDonald’s where for £6.50 I could feast like a king and still have money for ice cream.

I try to support all local businesses and this cafe does deserve the support, it’s impeccably clean and the ingredients are above what you would expect for a local cafe, the decor is homely yet appealing, and there is a nice relaxed ambiance to be enjoyed should you choose to eat in.

The rest of the menu I believe is well priced and well made I just don’t know if i can get over the price of main stay of the British people for the relatively small portion.

I need a full belly to fuel a full days graft and for £6.50 sadly...

The coffee at this sandwich shop rivals the big three, even surpasses them in my opinion. I usually get the same sandwich whenever I go in, which is always stuffed, always fresh and hand made, and great value for money, I honestly couldn't fault it even if I tried. The staff I've encountered so far have all been approachable and friendly, and always happy. They have a really wide selection for a small business; hot and cold sandwiches, full English breakfasts, omelettes, paninis, salads, jacket potatoes, cakes, confectionary, drinks... they even have ice cream (Frederick's)!

Extra large breakfast(2eggs,black pudding which I swapped for an egg, 3 bacon, 3 sausage, hash brown, tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, 4 toast) cheese and ham omelette 2 slices of toast, Americano and a cappuccino =£15. All the ingredients were good and environmentally friendly packaged, including the fantastic coffee. Service was efficient and with a smile.
