Donatello's Pizza Co. — Restaurant in South Tyneside

Its a shame for me to write this but im hoping the owners can use this as a form of constructive criticism.

Donatellos was for many number of years one of the top takeaways if not the best takeaway in the South Shields area. Everything from there was pure quality. It was easily levels above other takeaways as you could tell the quality of the ingredients that were being used. As well as one of the fastest delivery times I have ever witnessed (5 minutes!)The most distinguishable items for me were the following:

Pizza Dough Mozzarella Cheese 100% Lamb Doner Chilli Sauce

The pizza dough was top notch, the mozzarella that was used was for the pizza and the cheesy chips was 100% dairy. The 100% lamb doner kebab was easily the best in town. The chilli/garlic sauce was always on point. Donatellos branded Pizza box!!

Now it's safe to say that all those mentioned no longer exist or shall I say they are no longer the same. It is obvious to me corners have been cut to possibly try to save cost. Cheaper lesser quality ingredients are now used.

Mozzarella cheese is like rubber now. (Dough is still good!), Doner kebab just tastes generic and no longer has that 100% lamb smell, texture or taste. Pizzas don't come in a Donatellos box but rather a generic box and lastly the Mozarella cheese, it has completely ruined the pizza and the cheesy chips. Surely, the owner must have tasted his own food and noticed just how bad the cheese is.

This is not a complaint but rather a wishful positive/negative feedback from somebody that used to eat your food several...

Ive used Donatello's for almost 30 years and have stayed loyal due to knowing long serving staff members and the choice of food available its therefore disappointing to give negative feedback from tonights delivery where pizza and kebab were both cold upon arrival whether this because too many orders were taken to be delivered resulting in food being made too early prior to delivery or something else but considering I ordered through the website and paid a delivery charge the quality of such must improve or I shall regrettably choose to order from the numerous other options available to me in South Shields in future ,you may be short of drivers due to Covid or just eat Bike riders but that's not your customers problem...

It pains me to leave this but im really gutted as this is by far the best pizza takeaway in south shields, however just received my order and its just not nice at all, i got a half&half (inferno and chicken & mushroom) normally beautiful but this was inedible the inferno didnt taste anything like the inferno we normally have and the chicken n mushroom was dry as sticks and like cardboard really tasteless aswel and the chips were freezing too so thumbs down this time sorry donatellos but really disappointed...
