If I could give 0 stars I certainly would! Never in all my life have I been so insulted from bar staff in any establishment who certainly need training asap in customer service skills. Myself and my husband ordered 2 steaks, one being a sirloin steak well done and the other being a medium rare with 2 fried eggs. We had also ordered different steak sauces. Unknown to us the order arrived and had been mixed where my steak had eggs on top with the incorrect sauce. I advised the waiter that our orders had been mixed up and after changing the eggs and sauces around the order was correct. The waiter asked if we would like to reorder and when we said it was fine he offered us a free round of drinks. I thought this was very thoughtful and although wasn’t planning on another drink I kindly obliged. When my husband asked for our drinks ‘Karen’ quickly scurried off and came back with our two receipts arguing that in fact our order had in fact been served correctly. To my disbelief I began trying to explain than they had been served wrong. She carried on with her loud interrogation with every customer in the pub engaged in the matter. In the end I was so upset that I told ‘Karen’ I no longer wanted the drinks on the house as I felt that upset and angry having been challenging as though I was a liar and the customer audience she had gathered in the meantime. She simply replied ‘that’s fine’…. There are simply no other words but avoid this pub...
Read moreOur group of four ordered lunch here today, we were told that we could be waiting 30-40 minutes, as it was only 12.30 we said that was OK. One hour and 15 minutes later we were served the two starters ordered, then waited another 10 minutes or so after that for the four main courses to arrive. As time was getting on and one of our group had an appointment at 2.30 elsewhere, we had to ask for our desserts to be brought out quickly. We left the Flaming grill with a few minutes to spare in order to make our appointment time. We asked a few times, during the longer than expected wait, when would our food be served. Each time the very busy and polite serving staff said hat the meals were being 'plated up' right now! There were only two young women serving as far as I could see and. Tables who had ordered after us were served before us. All in all we didn't have a very good experience at the 'Flaming' Fountain Grill. The food was mediocre to say the least. My chicken breast was preformed chicken, hubby's small fish was like an over-battered sprat. I was expecting a much better scenario than we received today. I don't think we will be eating...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting. We got there and it was pretty empty so ordered food. While waiting for our food more people came in and also ordered food. Everyone else got there's before we got ours. When the food finally came you could tell it was either frozen (the veg) or microwaved. I got a roast everything was dry and when I bit in to the green beans it wouldn't break they was solid. I also had half a chicken that looked very cheap very dry and again hard to cut some meat off, it was not appetising. I would recommend to avoid this place if your are looking for something to eat. We had done a 13 hour drive and was very hungry when we arrived so was looking forward to a lovely roast but we went back to our hotel room starving. My husband wanted to do one of the food challenges but was told he couldn't do one with no reason given. The place also seemed to of filled up with teenagers that either looked just of age to drink or 12 years old but drinking also, we said it was like a youth club. We only travelled up to decoration my grandads grave for Christmas, a nice meal would of finished off the day perfectly...
