Our visit on Tuesday evening 10th August to celebrate my Nephews birthday was a big let down. Keen to try the new Greene KIng menu we were disappointed that there was no fish left..in fact various alternatives we chose weren't available either. We ordered at the bar for our party of four...two separate orders within minutes of each other and were warned that the food would be half an hour which was acceptable to us. Fifty minutes later two meals arrived and for the price were poor. The chips with the Sirlion steak looked like mush and the rocket wasn't fresh, a pile of limp leaves. The chicken pie pastry crust was hard and the tender stem broccoli was anything but...it was uncooked and hard. After another 15 minutes I complained the other two meals had not arrived...they should have been served together....no excuse...and the staff didn't seem that bothered. After another ten minutes we decided to leave.. enough was enough and to forgo any chance of ordering more drinks and deserts. At the point of leaving the meals were delivered to the table which we returned...the lengthy wait was not acceptable and two members of the party had well finished their meal. A refund was given at the bar but in cash??? even though a debit card had been used. All in all a poor experience, lack of customer service...and two of us going home hungry..sadly a birthday...
Read moreFood OK...... not really worth what was paid. Much better pub food in and around the area. I ordered Fish & Chips battet had a slight burnt taste but fish itself nice. Frozen chips always a disappointment, garden peas were typical garden peas (which are my fav so no complaints) tartar sauce nice. £1.50 for 1 slice of dry bloomer was shocking, the butter was lovely and salty though and my favourite part of the meal strangely. Mum ordered scampi which she said was OK albeit a tad hard. Hubby had the signature hunters chicken which tbh did not look appetising but he seemed to enjoy and said was OK. Our little boy had nuggets and chips with carrot sticks (carrot sticks dry and not fresh) they also forgot about his dessert and after waiting 50 minutes for meals that were from a freezer and it now been after 7pm we had to leave has the toddler and baby were over tired. Disappointing. Won't try again as always seems to be an issue here it's been around 2 yrs since our last visit and still poor. Shame really cos its a lovely location over looking the dunes and sea and it's nice inside. Nothing fancy but it is clean and tidy. I would however use the pub for a drink due to...
Read moreWe popped in for a quick lunch as we had not tried this pub previously. There are some unusual items on the menu such as the Korean Chicken burger along with the more standard pub fair. I tried the Korean Chicken burger , and another tried the Hunter's Chicken which is served on a gammon steak. These were both very good. My wife had the steak and was quite impressed. The pub is a very nice looking place with comfortable seating and the staff were quick and friendly. Prices were approximately 12 pounds a head at the time of writing so very reasonable. If there is one small critisism it's that the portions are slightly on the small side.. I had my burger, chips and half a friend's burger and my wife's chips too and didn't feel stuffed. I have a good appetite though. This is a Green King establishment and you have the option of ordering from the Green King app, if you like although, we didn't bother as it was easier going to the bar as the place was fairly empty at the time.. Recommended and I hope to go back to try some other items...
