Minchella & Co — Restaurant in South Tyneside

The ice cream is great! Absolutely lovely. Yesterday my husband, 3 year old son, niece, sister & myself all enjoyed one. Not 10 mins after leaving we realised my still potty training toddler had, had an accident. My husband walked him back to Minchella with what was clearly a large wee patch on his trousers to find the doors locked, fair enough the time on the door clearly stated it was closed! However he could also clearly see a few customers inside still finishing up.

So he walked round to the window hatch and asked politely, if he could please use the bathroom to clean my son up. He was told no, the cafe doors are locked and that they couldn't do anything about that (I wonder how those customers were to leave? Or the staff serving at the hatch when their shift ends) My poor embarrassed son therefore had to trudge his wet self all the way down to the pub at the other end of the walkway.

I get it, the cafe is shut, if you let us in, who else might try to get in. But seriously? Considering we'd just been there and all bought ice creams, he's 3 years old and wet his pants, you couldn't help out?

Well all I can say is, I really, really hope that one day you are in the same situation and that person who could help you, goes above and beyond to help you, because when they don't? It really sucks and the parents don't forget! Not only did this suck on a customer service level, but also on a just being a decent human being level. We...

Been here a few times and has always been decent, however when I was here last it wasn't great. When we got here the place was deserted we thought the place was closed but had forgot to lock the door. I did shout hello but got no reply. Eventually someone did come out and we got served. My friend was happy with her ice cream, however I was a bit disappointed with mine as it was full of crunchy ice crystals. Maybe the ice cream I choose was not a popular one, who knows but probably won't stop me from...

Got served quickly for 2 toasties and chocolate Sunday and a knickerblocker . Well I was surprised to see no chocolate ice cream in the chocolate Sunday and when the knickerblocker came over , only 1 kind of Ice cream , ( thought it was a mix of ice creams) .My son did like the crisps that came with the toasties ,so I asked to buy a small bowl of them . He is 3. No I had to buy a toastie . I understand why your place was quiet now.
