It's ok they have changed the cider which is not very nice on draught & with the covid situation they need to keep on eye on the customers as their was a group in which they must have been out for a while as one was quite leary & very loud, & your supposed to keep your distance well he didn't & was in the space of another group which wasn't good the husband of the women who he was speaking to & other members of the group was not pleased & told him so, so an argument started saying the husband shouldn't be out! which was wrong he is entitled to his space in these uncertain times my partner went over to the bar to tell the bar staff but they said they would keep an eye on them they should have intervened to calm the situation. We have to keep to the rules so others should to everyone is entitled to go out but please keep to the rules this is not a game people are dying or they are seriously ill for months after with...

Went there for something to eat. Prices are pretty fair. Chef must have been having a bad day though - had the mixed grill and my steak was very well done (requested medium rare). Other than that, it did the job. My partners mixed grill was spot on. My 7 year old wanted the pizza off the kids menu. Urgh. He wouldn't touch it and he loves pizza more than life itself. It was greasy, the base was soggy and the cheese was just a congealed mess. It could have done with a few more minutes in the oven. Luckily kids meals are free on a Sunday...he was that put off, he didn't want his supposed free ice cream (not that it was offered anyway). So, ok for adults but not for kids. Oh, and £2.30 for a Fruit Shoot was ridiculously expensive...I may as well have got him a sugar loaded Pepsi 🙄

Unfortunately a once iconic pub in south shields is being left to rot. It's in great need of repairs and I assume it'll cost alot of money for said repairs to be done. The inside is damp and cold. It's unattractive with wallpaper falling off and walls crumbling from damp. However that doesn't seem to affect the staff and they're always smiling and happy to serve the public which kind of cancels out all the bad stuff including the horrendous toilets.
