Having used this place a few times and thought it was ok, myself and my wife decided to go again at the weekend to give it another try, as it’s been almost a year since we visited last. What a terrible decision!! We remembered why we hadn’t visited for so long the minute we sat down, our previous experience was poor at best and we had said we would never return, well stupidly we did, and my goodness what a shambles. Firstly, you are now pretty much ordered to give them your coat as you sit down, the waiter actually said to me, I need to take your jacket, you can’t put that black jacket on our white seats! OMG, we couldn’t believe what we were hearing, tbh we should have left at that point, but there were a few customers eating food so we didn’t want to make a scene. I gave them my jacket and my wife kept hers with her. The food came and it was pretty mediocre, the starters were 2/10 and the mains were 5/10, pretty similar to the previous visit, but the night was about to get even worse. We asked for the bill and my jacket, 5 mins later, our bill was put on the table and a waiter turned up with two jackets, he got mine correct, but then proceeded to give my wife someone else’s Canada Goose Gilet, seriously, very lucky we are honest people or someone would have been going home minus their £700 gilet. We then looked at the bill and everything was fine. The Manager, a small, very arrogant (we have felt this on every visit, his service is terrible) man, comes to our table with a chip & pin machine, he stares at the bill then stares at the pair of us, takes a step away from the table and enters an amount which was £10 more than the actual bill, the reason I noticed immediately was because he was acting very shifty around us raising real suspicion, I then challenged him and he took a few steps away and started reading down the bill, in a way to say it should be £10 more, he had no dealings with serving us our food or seeing the bill until that point, when I challenged him it became blatantly obvious he had tried to scam me, he started getting really aggressive with me and literally walked away from us, it was an absolute disgrace, he started raising his voice to me until I actually lost my temper and started raising my voice too, it was so embarrassing and there were people eating around us, we moved to the front entrance area and continued the conversation, he had no reason as to why he tried to scam us and just proceeded to get the full payment, no apologies at all, no goodwill gesture, which made it all so obvious what he had done. We have been in total shock since and I’m tempted to release this to the local press and get him investigated, how many more customers has he done this too? If trading standards investigated what would they find, does he try and pray on people that look most vulnerable? It certainly looks that way. What a disgrace and I would encourage you all to reconsider if you plan to visit this place in future, you could well have been getting ripped off for years and because of your nice nature and potential love for the food, completely getting scammed every time, check your bill...
Read moreTotally shocking, booked an hour before arrival and was told we could be seated, we arrived to be left in the tiny bar area for an hour with a 3 year old and a 6 month old... we were told it was there mistake and the booking shouldn't have been taken as they didnt have the space.. the booking was already for 6.45pm so an hour delay is a long time for children of that age. We were then seated and told we would be compensated for our wait. When we were eating, a very small amount of water was spilled on the table and floor, a few drops at most and the manager came over and started mopping around us, rearranging our table aggressively to clean up the tiny amount of water and even picked up my nieces popudom to rearrange it on her plate. When it was time to pay we handed in our scratch cards that were given out at the start of the meal, there was a few for 1pound off the meal and 2 for a free shot, my shot came and had a fly in it, on telling management about this there was no apology, he just took it, held it up to the light to check and said 'well somethings in there!' With an aggressive tone. We received the bill, with no discount to compensate our hour long wait, as promised and when we enquiered about this we were told we could have the popudoms for free... they were worth £6.00, we spent £225.00 in total that evening.. We then proceeded to pay, without complaining about any of this, and upon paying the manager took the Money and stormed back to the table and said we underpaid, slamming the money on the table. We told him we hadn't and to check again and he went away and realised he was in fact wrong. We received no apology so my family then proceeded to tell him how unhappy we had been with the entire evening, from Start to finish, again no apology, he just argued with us and refused to accept he did anything wrong. Food was actually lovely, and there was a couple of waiters who were sweethearts but the attitude from the guy who we are assuming was the manager was horrendous. Read moreOrdered a take away; got home to find the rice was missing, ended up having to almost 'barter' over the telephone. They wanted to send rice out, however, 3.5miles away from the restaurant and by the time it arrived, the rest of the meal would of been cold.
We bartered and eventually managed to get them to replace the full order (not our mistake and after nearly £30 spent i expect what i ordered)
We jumped in the car and headed to the restaurant again for our food (total round trip now at 14miles). When we arrived they asked us if we wanted to keep the old food, we declined, they offered again and said we could keep it for an additional £5, which frankly given the experience exasperated me! Anyways, fresh food off home we go!
Looking forward to tucking into a yummy indiain curry and we opened the curry itself up to find the lowest grade rubber chicken known to man, I also see other people making references to the low quality food. Ive never witnessed a curry that lacked so much taste and was litterly full of water. The curry was so runny I was so disappointed...
Guys you got it so wrong tonight mind, and I dont think I'm going to even give you another chance to put it right.
