I haven't been to George's Cafe for years. So whilst in Shirley today, we passed the door & decided to pop in for lunch. Its not a big place inside but its very welcoming. My son is 8 mths old & still in a pram but several customers & the waitress jiggled a table & chairs around to accommodate the pram & us three adults. We ordered our meals (sorting out our food allergies as we went) & I asked for hot water for my son's bottle so it would warm up whilst I ate, before feeding him. In typical baby fashion "Moma... I'm staaarvin'!" meant he had his bottle just as my meal arrived. "Oh dear... Never mind... I'll put your meal under the hot lamp til he's finished!" The Chef said, & did. It meant that I had a hot meal too. After paying, I had a quick trip to the WC. They were SPOTLESS!!! I've seen some WC's in my time & many take a lot to be desired... But these even smelled fresh, despite the customers constant use. We left when we were ready without that rush-rush feeling some cafes make you feel. Our meal was excellent. The prices were very much value-for-money. And the staff (& customers) were cheerful, friendly & helpful. Well worth a visit & we'll go again when we're in...

FIRST WHILST IT WAS RUN BY GEORGE AND HIS WIFE!

THEN' WHEN IT WAS TAKEN OVER' AND RUN BY GEORGES SON AND DAUGHTER IN LAW MARY!

BUT NOW IT'S RUN BY ANOTHER CHAP THATS ONLY HAPPY TO PLEASE!

WHEN COOKING FOR HIS MANY OF HUNGRY CUSTOMERS..

IF YOU WANT A BIG BIG BREAKFAST BUT FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY THE PLACE TO GO!
