Have been to Santo lounge for a number of years and always enjoyed the food. Since visiting with my young daughter a few months ago, my opinion has begun to change. After ordering a macaroni cheese from the kids menu, I was shocked at how salty it was! So much so, I ended up not feeding it to her. Last night we visited again with the in laws and had a very disappointing experience. My mother in law ordered the butter milk chicken burger, nowhere within the description did it mention any spice, yet when it arrived it was spicy. We were angry at the way my mother in law was spoken to as when she questioned why it was spicy, she was assured that's what butter milk chicken was like, (my husband has ordered the same burger before and recalls that it wasn't spicy). The waiter asked if she would like a plain burger, which she agreed to, when it arrived it was lemon and coriander. When the rest of our food arrived, my chips were very salty. So I checked my daughter's chips and these were also salty! One of the waiters asked if our food was ok, so my mother in law mentioned that her chicken was herby. He said they don't have plain chicken. Proof that most of the menu is prepared of site and delivered in. I also said I was surprised that her chips were salty, considering it was ordered from the kids menu and you have to be mindful of how much salt and sugar children have in their diet. He said that they're already salted when they arrive!! So not cooked from fresh then?! When I mentioned the macaroni cheese, he said they are already portioned when they arrive and are just reheated to order. I'm disgusted and disappointed to learn that we're paying above average for what is essentially a ready meal. Might go in there for a drink in future, but won't be...
Read moreSanto lounge have done their absolute best to make sure that customers are safe. At the door you can sanitise your hands and there's a booklet to write your details just in case contact tracing needs to be done. Unfortunately, I noticed one customer taking the pen away from the area where you need to santise your hands and leave your details. They took the pen and the leaflet to their table. This caused some confusion for the next two customers who entered the premises as there was no pen to write their details for contact tracing at the door. None the less, the customer went to the bar to ask for a pen (which she got). This customer then took the whole booklet with her to her table, meanwhile another couple entered the premises and there was no booklet for contact tracing or pen. They just went straight to their table without leaving their details at the door. This would make it hard to contact them if contact tracing needed to be done. Santo lounge could make sure that customers don't remove the booklet or pen from the entrance and also encourage customers to ask for these items if they find them not to be at...
Read moreOMG we were so disappointed as regulars with our experience todap-Santo Lounge was a complete let down on service today..... Food and drinks arrived quickly but they forgot a portion of fries so James asked, then 10 mins later I went and asked and got a 'in a sec' remark, then 10 mins later had to ask again was told 'yeah yeah yeah' from a server with her back turned. Then finally a guy comes over after 25-30 mins of us waiting holding the receipt as if to say we hadn't ordered any fries, then says 'oh yes you did order fries' to himself, walks off and then 5 mins later fries appear after we've eaten everything.... The worst part...... The big guy with a beard Plonks them down and says 'enjoy your meal' after we'd clearly finished eating ..... No apology!!!!!! We left as, we couldn't spend any more money somewhere that treats its regulars that way. A server girl as we were leaving said she'd asked if she could refund us due to their mistake and he'd said 'no'. Literally never had that, poor service at our local Lounge. We can't come back and won't...
