Coffee#1 Shirley — Restaurant in Southampton

Coffee is amazing here like in any coffee #1 undoubtedly. Love their seasonal beans! This one's location is good, interiors' cosy, warm with welcoming colours however staff efficiency is poor. I've been one of their regulars for the past couple of months however never for once did they bother to mention about their loyalty card, which, by then could've earned me at least two free drinks. It so happened, one of the customers in front of me in the queue one day gave her their loyalty card and I saw it. It's not that different staff served me everyday. I used to go their everyday and get served by the same bunch of staff. So, now I have stopped going to this particular one cos I was disappointed. I normally did chat up with them every time I came to get my usual coffee. So it was a sad incident that's left me with a bad taste and hence the score. They seldom clear up the tables fast or quick. I once sat down with my laptop there and noticed some tables were left with crumbs and plates and cups forever until a new occupant had no seat and had to get to the table and ask one of the staff to come and clear. Also, I find their summer concoctions a joke. Sometimes they're either too ice blended and sometimes they're too bland. Their iced peach tea has no taste at all. Feels like I'm drinking water. 23rd Jan 2024: I enjoyed my latest visit, which was as it should be, but I will never forget that snake. PREVIOUSLY: I couldn't believe that this coffee shop thought it acceptable to allow a Boa Constrictor into the premises, with it's owner/handler of course. Besides the obvious question about environmental health, not everybody likes snakes. It was presented as cold and cuddly, not much different to any other pet, but everybody seemed to have forgotten the very important lesson "Never trust a snake". I'm reluctant to come here again, after this experience. ORIGINALLY: I really enjoyed this coffee shop experience and I don't frequent them very often. I really enjoyed the coffee I got from coffee #1. I wished I would have gotten the lady's name but I believe she was blonde, she said she was veggie, and she had a great attitude. She was very knowledgeable about the vegan options that they had in the store and that is important to me since, my whole family and I are vegan. We were only in town for a few days so I did go on Saturday morning (10sept2022) and Sunday morning (11sept2022). Unfortunately, my second visit wasn't as good as my first experience but I still wanted to give this place a 5 star. First day 5 star hands down, second day maybe a 3 star.
