I arrived shortly after 4:30 pm intending to catch up on some laptop work. The café was virtually empty – just a couple and a lone customer at the bar. A few minutes after ordering my coffee, I was informed of a “no screens” policy in force from Friday to Sunday and asked to put my laptop away. I appreciate that each café must set its own rules, but this policy came as a surprise and was neither mentioned on your website nor noted on Google Maps, which feels rather misleading.
Given that I was the only person using a table, there were a number of gentler ways this could have been handled. The staff might have mentioned the policy before taking my order, allowed me to finish my drink, or – since the café was so quiet – simply overlooked the rule on this occasion. Read moreWinnie’s Café is such a gem! The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make every visit a delight, and I want to give a special shoutout to Teresa for her exceptional service—she always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels at home.

She walks back to the bar and still doesn't say anything. Then walks behind the bar and grabs the coffee pot and goes off to a table to fill someone's cup. She comes back to the bar and is then joined by another of the wait staff and they start chatting. Meanwhile, I've been standing there for a few minutes with not even a simple 'hello' or 'be with you in a sec'. So I end up leaving and head elsewhere for a better experience.
No idea if the coffee (or the food) is any good here, but I can say the service wasn't...
