We went to one of the Mermaid's live music events to see the Weathertop Preachers (excellent band). The pub was well set up for the event with lots of covered outdoor seating. Every thing felt Covid safe with sign in, one way systems and table service, which I could get used to! :) The table staff are friendly and efficient. Food was available from a mobile van in the carpark, which I believe varies from night to night but the one we ate from was really good. We had a great evening, would recommend.

Fair priced, but everything is microwaved ๐๐ Friendly staff, offering dog water and treats ๐ Meal quality was reasonable & filling: Uncle Ben's Rice and a chilli (which required a good dose of salt and pepper). Fair local ales, though only three taps (strong, dark, blonde). Usual mainliners available too. Re: Pies, they're pieminsters! Heating up isn't cooking lol.

Traditional pub on Hatfield Road. A little quieter than the pubs right in the City Centre but lots of โregularsโ plus some passing trade. Great selection of real ales, changing regularly. Also great pie selection!!! Plus other home cooked pub fair. Friendly staff and customers - would be very easy to become a regular here!

Great vibe with live music (Pat & The Butchers) on a Sunday night. Lovely outdoor space and area. Bar staff busy and friendly. Just keep an eye on folk pushing in when busy and all play nicely at the bar. SEP23- Same vibe and bar! 10th anniv and 4 bands on a Sunday fun
